A short 1hr minivan ride from Rio Dulce and then a nice short stroll to the springs. This place is blissfully quiet and pristine. The water is fresh but not cold and the hot springs are an ideal temperature. We went on a Wednesday in the morning and only had to share the place with 4 others. The bus cost us 15 quetzales each way, despite the lonely planet saying 10. Although I saw what locals paid to go the full distance which was 20, so I think the price may have legitimately gone up. The guy on the return trip tried to charge us 20 each, but when I told him I wanted the rest of my change he gave it to me making the trip 15 both ways. Costs 10 quetzales to get in but well worth it- I'd never even heard of a warm waterfall, let alone been to one until now! GO!

Short drive from Rio Deluce river. Its few minute walk from parking to wall fall. The water coming from above is so HOT and stream water is cool. Very relaxing under the waterfall. Lots of locals enjoy the relaxing time too! Can jump from water fall and the mud is perfect for mud pack on body. I think this attraction closes down before dark.

This is a must see and must enjoy place ;-). The river is quite cold just as any river, but under the hot waterfall it becomes hot too, so it is really amazing to swim there or just relax under the waterfall and enjoy a "hot massage" exactly like in a spa. And if you climb a little on top of it there are some hot springs and it gets really hot sitting inside, like in a hot tub, with medicinal mud/clay that people spread on the skin to make it soft. Perfect!

Missed the bats and cave, enjoyed the shower, hot spring and mineral mud, there are two ways up to the spring one for the grandson and an easier hike for grama!

We visited the hot springs twice whilst staying nearby on the Rio Dulce. It's a great place to swim and the surroundings are beautiful. There is no official fee to use the hot springs, but there is a donation box. You can also visit 3 caves above the hot springs with one of the local guides; this was very cheap and well worth the short walk. One of the caves is quite large and has bats in it. Another is like a natural sauna with warm water in it, which was quite an unusual experience. The food and drinks served at the hot springs were good and reasonably priced.

A magical experience! Try to go there on a weekday as weekends get very busy. It is quite a small place so it can loose a bit of atmosphere when overcrowded. We were lucky to be there on Monday and for a long time we were the only people there (apart from the very nice old man who was a guard). Ask the guard to show you the source where the hot water comes out from the ground and forms a hot ( absolutely hot!) river. You can use the mud from the source to make a facial (and body ) mask. The best spa ever! :) The water is very shallow ( and warm) in the river down from the waterfall so a great place for little kids!If you forget to bring your food you can eat at the restaurant by the road.

Simply amazing! The combination of a hot waterfall into a cold, clean and refreshing river is unique! The hot water got a perfect temperature (cools down enough because of the waterfall) and does not smell to much of sulfur as most hot springs do. Luckily it is also still enough off the tourist grid that its not too crowded by people and touts. We played around there for hours! What you have to do while there:Enjoy the unique hot/cold water actionThe natural sauna (under the waterfall)Inside the sauna on the right side, there is a narrow entrance where youcan enter yet another cave. Check out the two batcaves up in the right side of the fallJump from the right side of the waterfall into to river (the guides will tell you where)Let the fish nibble your dead skin (if you have old cuts, it might hurt, so watch out!)Bring whatever you need, the guards/caretaker will watch over your stuff. PS: Do not confuse this attraction with the hot water springs on the rio dulce river. Those are smelly, to warm and dirty.

We took a local micro bus to Finca Paridiso about 30 minutes. We paid 15 Q each for the ride each way. Great way to enjoy the locals and enjoy their conversation. When we arrive we had to pay 10 Q to enter the area. It is about a 10 minute walk to the springs. It was a unique experience with the cold and warm water.

A great spot to enjoy the hot springs and a cool water pool simulateneously. It is not too long of a walk to get there; journey can be a bit mucky if it has rained. However, this spot is very much worth the walk. We enjoyed this immensely, did not want to leave but the tour guide had to insist as we had other places to visit. There was a older Mayan gentleman there who was really helpful to us, because getting in and out of the pool might be tricky for more mature folks; can be slippery in places. (a tip for him is suggested). We were taken there by Oswaldo Contreras who runs Rio Dulce Travel that is located in Hotel Backpackers in El Relleno. Oswaldo was a great tour guide, and on that day we were his only passengers. A defintie MUST if you're in the area.

The hot springs are free so no complaints about the price, but you're basically just sitting in a partially walled off part of the river in an area where hot water seeps out of the rocks. So be prepared to do a lot of water-mixing while you soak to keep your legs from getting cold and your shoulders and arms from scalding. Plus the little fish that hang out there can really give your ankles a good nip. But it was still pretty relaxing to hang out along the river watching the boats go by, and we had a good hamburger lunch and a beer at the restaurant next to the hot springs.

We took a very crowded van/bus out to the falls, which was an adventure in itself. A nice walk down to the falls, Hot waterfall into the cool water was GREAT. Brought a picnic lunch & had a blast. Walked back to the street & caught another not so crowded van/bus back to town. A great day trip.

Warm hot spring waterfall with an opportunity explore under the travertine limestone caves, 3 meter jump from top of the waterfall into the river and the clay mud bath in the jungle nearby.
