chamera lake

Its a little far away from the city/.... but a nice place to spend an evening. Do experience a speed boat ride here... Avoid going in the afternoon time... can be very hot.... no fun going in heat ...

Its a nice big lake, views from top of the hills is quite good. The Dam itself is quite impressive. Road from Dalhousie to the lake passes through hilly terrains and valleys with paddy fields - the view is really nice.When we went there, it was raining very heavily, so did not get to boat. There is not much to do other than boating.

Most beautiful views.. Great Maggi right opposite the Lake ! :)Its a little cold but totally worth it. The boat rider (?) was really sweet and kept telling us about the history of the lake and did a mini photo session (:P)There were ducks when we came came back to the shore.All in all it was worth the chill (we went in Jan 2015, so i expected it) !

its nice and quite boating. please do not take speed boat if you want to view lake nicely. speed boat will just start and finish before you understand anything. motorboat is best option there

the speed boat ride is extreme fun! if you can handle a bit of risk and speed, take this ride and not the slow boat ride!

It's scenic & beautiful lake amidst the great mountains. ..must see ...its just calm and a peaceful location of dalhousie

Too difficult to reach and one keeps going around in circles to find the place. The location is very scenic but I found the boat ride very boring. Go if you have nothing else to do. Better to spend double time in Khajiyar

1.travelled in feb 20152.took a cab from dalhoisie bus stand,cost around 15003.takes around 1.5 hrs to reach4.there is only one boat operator,he offers speed as well as normal motor boat5.speed wasnt much fun ,motor boating was dull but the views were splendid.6.carry ur dslr ,its an awesome lake to click .

We heard a lot but it was very tough to reach over there. Quite far and tie consuming destination. Chamera Dam Vs Chamera Lake was the biggest confusion when we visited. Both are same by the way. Once you reach there, speed boat (not normal boat) is a lovely experience with nature all around. They charge around Rs 300 per person for 8 minutes ride. Overall Paisa Vasool. Wish it was not much far. Please visit before 5 PM for better experience.

Great lake and it is a good drive to the place. It is a lake created as part of dam and honestly the views from road is more interesting than a boating there. Clean lake and drive around the power plant is a nice experience for someone who doesn't live in a hilly area.

Speed Boat experience excellent ...and guide was there for speed boat was nice guy....we had 8 to 10 Minute ride .

This lake is surrounded by valley on all sides so natural lights dips a bit early so plan to go early. We were there by 11:00 am and had excellent boat ride. It was worth to drive there, don’t skip it.

The drive till the boating point is a little long but worth it. You will go round the power project and through a small tunnel before you reach the point. the drive itself is also quite scenic.

Clean lake and it is good boating option good site for snaps.........................................................................................................

Chamera Lake was a very good place. We really had a nice time there. We did boating there and enjoyed a lot. Kids liked that place too.
