Newly restored Portuguese Fort

It's a old Portuguese fort and has been recently restored... So unlike the Cabo DE Rama fort or the chapora fort which lie in ruin this one is pretty good... It's a very short drive from both panjim and North Goa... Lies somewhere In the middle... Has a great view from the top of mandolin river.... The restoration has done wonders for this fort and it definitely warrants a visit... Relax later with a meal at babazin for some amazing sea food.....

Reis magos is a restored fort in Goa, north of mandovi river. When we went there, an art display was also going on. The place is calm, with not much visitors. An entry fee of Rs 50 per person is there. The view from here is the best thing to look.

This fort is recently restored and must say it is done excellently. The view of the Mandovi river is worth to see from here. You can also see the Panji city from this fort and it looks great. There is ample amount of information displayed here about the fort and its History. The fort being restored recently is very clean no garbage, plastic etc around. Worth visiting once atleast. Try to go in evening, but not too late as the fort closes at sunset. but do watch sunset from here and on another side Ferry boats doing round in river look nice.

This is probably the only fort I found to be most well maintained and very well preserved post its restoration in Goa. The view of the Mandovi River from the Fort is excellent. The art works of the renowned artist Mario Miranda is displayed here. This is the place to go for if you wish to have an insight of the goan artist' works.

I went with my family to this place after its restoration. It is not a majestic fort but carries significant historical important. We were lucky to visit the nearby church that was open during our visit. I loved seeing the art work of Mario Miranda displayed in the halls of fort. Do a little research before going these. Take a jeep, instead of walking.

The entry ticket is Rs 50/-. The fort has been restored and converted into a gallery of mario mirandas works. The fort has been restored very nicely by local architect Gerrard de Cunha. If you like seeing art, this place is a must visit. Nothing much to see in the fort but the views from here are awesome.

A bit of Goan history which has been painstakingly restored, but unlike many forts does not have much to boast about. It IS quite a huge fort though if you take the pain to venture into all the entrances and offers you some spectacular views. The best part is you can take a ferry from Panjim city to Betim and then continue the ride or drive rather than taking the bridge, the ferry does not cost a thing and its fun to get onto the ferry with your vehicle and all.The fort also houses some of the works of Mario Miranda, the famous cartoonist of Goa.The reception below offers a ride to the top of the fort for the people who cant climb up.

Amazing restoration effort. Breathtaking view from the top. Liked the exhibition of Mario Miranda's caricatures in one of the halls. Its a lot of walk so be ready for it. I loved the exit through the endless stairs too.

I visit Goa at least twice a year but have yet to see majority of the tourist spots across. This time when I was there to attend a wedding in the family, I decided to use the little time I had and got to know of this place very close to Saligao.Took hardly 15 minutes to reach the place. It opens at 10AM and has an entry fee of Rs 50 per person, students are charged Rs 25.We were little out of luck as we entered the fort the same time as about 300 more students who were there on a school tour. That made us rush through a little. The fort was restored in 2007 and there are many pictures of how the place looked before and after restoration. It has a beautiful view of the surrounding areas which include beaches and passing boats are barges .Part of the place houses the art work of Mario Miranda. The basement also houses few postcards.Do make time and visit this place, you will not regret it.

Visited this place in the afternoon, and hence, the stone was radiating heat. The fort has been renovated and hence, you won't find the old buildings in their actuality. There is an art exhibition inside by the famous artists whose name the fort has. Remember to visit the fort entirely as few areas are on a lower level. Entry fee is Rs. 50/-

Beautiful fort from Adil Shah era later on captured by Portuguese. Breathtaking view from top. Few amazing caricatures by great Mario Miranda are showcased that you don't want to miss at any cost. Make sure you are ready to walk a lot to reach the fort.

A small fort ,now owned by government of Goa which was previously a Portuguese outpost and later a jail. After Portuguese left Goa, the fort lost its importance and turned to ruins until 1993 after which restoration efforts were done and today, it is a place with a beauty that is soothing to eyes and its location is just marvellous !!! .As it is slightly in the interior of Goa but it is still a hidden gem of Goa that should be explored by all.
