Visited Jan 13, 2015. Beautiful small park in front of City Hall and the Church. The city tourism office and the Battle of Surigao Straight Museum are in the park. There is a giant shoe at one side of the park. There is also a large gazebo at the park.
The place is clean and quiet, best for children and families. There is a chess area and a small playground which the government is trying to update.A kiosk in the center is used for talent shows or bands during town celebrations.Sometimes, you can be lucky to have soft music, otherwise, you get music from the radio. It is lighted at night, but during Christmas, it is well lit with Christmas lights and it can be so beautiful! It is safe!
Lots of muticabs, place is near church, tourism office, schools, fruits stand, museum, fascinating people.
A beautiful park infront of the catholic church, , nice place to rest after shopping. There are also lots of women doing manicures and pedecures beside the park and also men doing massage for men. So there are lots of reason to setdown in the park.
wala kami magawa..... gumala kami ng sister ko in luneta park sa surigao city... that was her first time to be in the city..... the park is not that special but its a nice park with lots of thing to do there, play chess play in the children park....or you can stay there while waiting someone...
Yes, it's nothing special, but this is the first plaza I've visited with a whooole row of nail technicians lining one walkway. There must have been at least 20 of them, all seated under their individual umbrellas. You'd think that there would be stiff competition, but most of the stalls were occupied with customers! I was also able to talk to one of them, and she said she takes the ferry everyday from an island 1 hour away to make a living there. If anything, come see this attraction.Oh, and during the holidays, they light up all the trees in the park. Really magical; I wish I'd taken a picture. They hold dog shows there too.
the park is under renovation, just across is a mall, and on its right side, the city hall.... the park is accessibly located in the heart of the city... nearby the cathedral, and the bishop palace. Peddlers are abound, with goodies and locally produced fruits, souvenir items and street foods. The park is average in size but with its strategic location, many people are winding up their free time, sitting on benches. This is one of the landmark of surigao city, so a newbie should visit and take pic for their souvenir.
you can see people who offer foot massages, chess players, playground and Rizal statue in the middle.
