dover beach

The quality of the beach was great. Food areas could have been better, but it did not spoil the enjoyment of the time there.

Came by here and spent the day just lounging. I was not staying at any of the local hotels, so I drove over here and just parked right out on the street, because there was no parking in the lot. Parking however you want in the street is pretty much accepted island wide here, so don't worry about leaving your car parked.I found this beach to be excellent because it has beach chairs and umbrellas we were able to rent at $5 Bajan apiece (15 Bajan total or $7.50 US). There are also water sports and little bars you can purchase drinks from. When it's time to eat, shoot over to Bliss Cafe which is 2 blocks away and get yourself some of there paninis for lunch. The cafe which is right on the beach and has seating there, is overpriced.This beach is a great spot to relax, enjoy the beautiful water, have some drinks and eat a nice sandwich. There are also bathrooms if the need arises.

Have stayed on Dover Beach for several years. Beautiful water. Kenny (near Sapphire Condos) will set you up with a beach chair & umbrella at a reasonable price. Three laps from one end to the other gives you a mile of exercise.

Jumping in and out - and over - the sometimes angry surf at Dover a Beach is such fun, and can clip the years off you. I've seen nippers, twenty- somethings and older folk doing just that and having the time of their lives. The lifeguard, or in his absence the local hotel staff shout warnings about being dragged onto the rocks so care should be exercised but this probably half-mile or so of brilliant sand (great for sand castles) is well worth a visit. Watch out for half-buried, sand coloured rocks as you stride along though.

Relaxing, bit choppy but just beautiful. A nice romantic beach to walk along and quite secluded from the busy roads and people. Great sun sets here and lovley surroundings.

Great beach with nice surf and great places to eat right beside. Love this beach! There is nice surf to the left over the reef or right side of the beach.

Total Paradise, white sands and torquoise seas, what more could you ask for, would defo recommend it.

We were staying at the Ocean 2 Resort and although the beach there is pretty, it has too many rocks to wade into the water. You could cut through the west of the beach to get to Dover Beach, but it is pretty tricky and can be rough. It's just a 5 minute walk on the street to the beach. Beach chairs are available to rent for $5 and umbrellas $10. Sand is soft with no coral or rocks to worry about. Waves were great for body surfing the week we were there. Beautiful, clear water. Many places to eat right there as well as some local shopping. Great beach to spend the day!

You have to pay for an old beach chair and umbrella. You need to stay in designated aria in the water, because there was only one life guard and we all needed to stay infront of him...

Cleanest beach we have ever seen - there was always plenty of room for us to lounge - definitely recommend going at the beginning of September

Gorgeous white sand, clear blue waters and some nice little beach bars. A gorgeous spot to soak up the sun!

Wonderful beaches and great food. I would love to come back to this place. The RIO was a wonderful place to stay.
