Hello Paul,We see that you are a repeat visitor to the island and are happy that you took the time to write about Masterworks. We are also pleased that we were able to provide a "5 Star" experience for you as well. Please visit us on your next trip to see what other amusing but educational exhibits we have on view at the time.
A good history of the island in pictures. Famous painters such as Frank Stella to Georgia O'Keefe. Check out the Members room upstairs for an incredible view and tremendous Art Book collection. Another bargain among very few to be had.
This is excellent Cynthia. Thank you for your review. Here at Masterworks we strive to be different and prove that bigger isn't always better. We are small and quaint and therefore can put more energy into producing a quality exhibit. Right now, "Rudolph & Friends", is one of the museum's greatest accomplishments and Tom would be happy to tell you all about it.Please visit us again on your next visit to allow us to exceed your expectations again.
Masterworks is located on the grounds of the Bermuda Botanical Gardens. Both are worth a trip for a few hours. The gallery features hundreds on works by mostly local Bermuda artists but also houses a collection of other known international artists. The museum strives to offer periodical special events each of which is always worth a visit.
We are happy that your experience was a pleasant one. We always hope that our volunteers continue to promote Masterworks' vision and acknowledge the work that goes into making the museum the attraction that we hope it to be.We will pass the message on to the 2 ladies that made your visit a little extra special.
We love Masterworks too! We are pleased to hear that you had a pleasant time, but please don't take another 33 visits before you come and see us again.
Thank you Melissa for recognising the importance of our Bermuda themed collection. There is none other like it on the island. And believe... coming to work with the Botanical Gardens as the backdrop is an added bonus.
The new exhibit has a mixture of styles and artists and so something for everyone. The ambience is quiet and fresh, peaceful to peruse the different images. Suitable for disabled access there is a lift to the upper floor, though one or two artworks are displayed on the staircase and so would be missed by someone using the lift. Entrance fee is most reasonable and includes a postcard relating to the current exhibition. Much of the work is of Bermuda and it seems almost all is by Bermudian artists. A small gift shop and very helpful staff all adds up to one of the best attractions on the island.
For over 25 years Masterworks has evolved into an enhanced version of its former self. Never has a vision been so profound - from repatriating Winslow Homers to an O'Keeffe the founders have fostered local talent and brought the gift of creativity to the children of Bermuda. Stop to enjoy homemade fare at the cafe - take your time to explore Bermudian history and charismatic host who welcomes any and all to enjoy his passion.
Gaile, Thank you for your review of the Museum. We are so very glad that you found the museum experience one of excitement. We too wish that we had 1200 Winslow Homers but more accurately we have approximately 1400 pieces from a variety of artists.Thank you again for your participation of our facilities.
Thank you very much for this review. The Tucker Sister's exhibit is a very nice one that will be coming down in October. So if you know of anyone else coming to Bermuda before that time, we appreciate that you have already given the exhibit the thumbs up.
Wow! This is great! Thank you so much for your appreciation of us. We definitely appreciate faithful fans like you. We are diligent in making the Museum a great place for all and your comment proves that we are getting it right.
Thank You for your fantastic review of the Museum. We are delighted to hear that you are an annual visitor to Masterworks and enjoy seeing how our collection has grown. We trust that you will continue to return and we would love to meet you in the office as our faithful visitors. The Masterworks Team
While I can't say that I would have made the trip just to see this museum, it was a nice addition to our botanic gardens visit. There were several exhibits of Bermuda art and artifacts including beautiful seascapes and images inspired by Hamilton and St. George. There was also a small gift shop featuring items from local craftspeople and a cafe which made for a nice rest stop after a tour of the sunny botanic gardens.
Good Day John,We would like to thank you for taking time to review Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately during your visit the Mezzanine level gallery was closed as was the Arrowroot Gift Shop, this was most unusual as we are preparing a space for a small show dedicated to Arthur Rankin the creator of Frosty The Snowman & Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. As we are a small outfit we do our best at trying to stay open 7 days a week and it is regrettable that at the same time we were changing a small show from Mark Twain to the Tucker Sisters which opens this week. We do hope you will visit us again if you return to the Island and join us for a special Directors Tour to see the treasures of our collection. Warm regards,The Masterworks Team
