Spent yesterday at a wonderful glass studio in Tory Hill.,Artech Studio learning glassblowing techniques. Terry was an amazing teacher. Jenn prepared a delightful lunch and was very sensitive to dietary restrictions. Thank you Barrie Martin from Yours Outdoors for arranging this unique experience. Would highly recommend this package to anyone interested in the world of glassblowing!

I recently did the ice climbing with Barrie from Yours Outdoors and it was FANTASTIC! The climb was very well organized. It was challenging enough for experienced climbers, yet manageable for beginners. There was six of us in our group and we all had enough time to get multiple climbs in. The snacks and hot drinks afterwards were an added bonus! I would recommend this adventure to anyone and everyone!

Thanks again Barry for organizing this excellent experience. And thank you to Nathan and Calvin for your coaching and assistance with the actual climbing. I had been last year and wanted to take some friends this year. Nice to participate in a truly Canadian winter activity!

The Some Like it Hot day trip was just fantastic. Terry is a talented artist, and a patient and approachable teacher. Molten glass is mesmerizing, and the vegetarian lunch Jennifer prepared for us in their creative home was delicious! My only regret was not being able to stay longer - I guess I'll have to take the 2-day, or a week-long, course next time:) Thanks so much to Barrie, who was easy to reach leading up to the excursion and very organized the day of the trip. I really appreciate the photos he took of me while there - he really captured some special moments.

I highly recommend the exploratory tours of “Yours Outdoors”! I have always enjoyed guided excursions that are out of the ordinary, Barrie has developed that for sure in the beautiful Haliburton area. Step out of your box and try something new and take those daring memories with you. I have attended two of Barrie's tours - "Some like it hot" and "Taste of Haliburton" - both were exceptional days of discovering something diverse.Andi R

We took a group of girls for a trip to the cottage and to try ice climbing, it was so much fun! I would recommened it again! Barry was great to deal with and made planning the trip easy.

If you are looking at doing something memorable and very Canadian (Hey! what can be more Canadian than climbing ice -- we seem to walk on it five months a year!) You have to do this - lots' of fun and great host. Yours Outdoors is great!

I've had the opportunity to take part in two of Yours Outdoors' very unique and fun experiences! Some Like it Hot and Make Friends with Winter! Both were amazing and interesting. The food was delicious, hospitality warm and friendly and activities that I will never forget! I recommend Yours Outdoors experiences to anyone and everyone!

We had a romantic weekend planned with ice climbing and ice fishing. Barrie greeted us at Medeba with the ice climbing instructors. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and encouraging. We had a great time climbing and were able to get a number of climbs in. Barrie organized reservations at a fantastic restaurant, booked a cozy cabin for us and organized an ice fishing guide to meet us on the lake the next morning who set us up in a heated fishing hut and brought us lunch. Overall a great experience!

My son and I joined Barrie last weekend for a morning of ice climbing. A lot of fun, great instructors, small enough group that we each managed three 50 foot climbs. Was nervous at first having never done anything like this before, but there is no pressure and everyone is helpful, friendly and encouraging and you soon feel comfortable enough to give it a go. The coffee, juice and home made cookies were appreciated during our break, as well as the warm hut close by. A great way to make the most of winter in Canada.

We joined Barry Martin for a tour of mineral sites in the Haliburton Highlands. The first stop was Greenmantle Farm near Wilberforce where Mark Brahman led the tour around his extensive property showing us outstanding examples of unique mineral outcroppings. The names and geological history was fascinating and helped explain the presence of these unique examples. After a hearty lunch at the Greenmantle Farm house (thank you Sandra), Barry then took us to a public mineral sampling location. With safety glasses on and rock hammers in hand we chipped our way into the rocky overburden to uncover a variety of colourful and interesting minerals. The tour was great. The information was rich and well presented. Our hosts genial. I thought this was good value for the cost and certainly an ideal day long experience for adults and older children with an interest in the out of doors and particularly minerals. I highly recommend it.

Gone to Pot is an outrageously fun and worthwhile day out. I live in the area and played tourist for the day with a friend and I felt like I'd gone on holiday.I still use - and brag about, the pottery items I made that day and I highly recommend this day to anyone, any age.
