Being a beer drinker, I wanted to tour the brewery while in London. It is a "working tour". You are walking along raised platforms and occasionally have to move over for workers passing through. Our tour guide was friendly enough, let us sample the new Raspberry Shock Top. As for those who complain about sampling Budweiser and Bud light- the company has been brewing it since the 1980s. There's a reason you've had it before, and that's why they are a feature of the sampling.
I travelled to London On. on business, and thought I would check out the Labatt Brewery, WOW, it was fantastic. First to see how that lovely golden brew is made from start to finish, and then for the taste testing/sampling. It was very enjoyable. I went on the Thursday evening tour, I think there were 6 of us. Very small group. Our tour guide was amazing, she was from The Pas MB. If you go ask for her as the guide, sorry can't remember her name, but she was very good and knowledgeable. She kept us entertained. A must see when visiting London, ON.
A great tour with a very experienced guide. I'm not a beer drinker, but I found it to be very interesting. Saw the filling line and many other areas of the facility. The beer sampling at the end of tour was fun. Sampled 5 beers which included Bud and Bud Lite, but I wish we could have sampled something other than these 2 beers as most of us are familiar with these. A good tour to take if you have some extra time...be aware that the tour is a full 2 hours.
I love going on tours to see everyday things being made, and the tour of this brewery did not disappoint. You got to see all aspects of how the beer is bottled, from creating the mixtures of hops and malt, to storage, to bottle cleaning and refilling. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. You also got to sample five beers which you drank in a lounge while the tour guide explained the history of each one and even showed the proper way of pouring. On that day we sampled Labatt Blue, Stella Artois and Alexander Keiths India Pale Ale which I loved. But the other two were Bud and Bud light which I didn't care for. In the cooler behind the bar we saw some bottles of a Belgian beer called Leffe. Why couldn't we have tried a sample of that instead of the Buds!?Still, it's a great tour and well worthwhile. Just drink more Alexanders and Stella a spare the Bud Light.
The Labatt Brewery tour was most interesting. I believe it is one of the biggest breweries in Ontario, and expanding has they have recently acquired Corona. Our tour was guided by an experienced guide who really knew what she was talking about. We accessed a number of different areas of the brewery including the filling line which I found most interesting. After the tour there is a tasting of a number of different beer freshly brewed. The tasting concludes with visiting some original delivery trucks which are in beautiful condition. Well worth a visit!
You will get a tour of the brewery, but it's not much more than that. It is not as fun nor interesting as other brewery tours. However, if you're curious how beer is made and you're in the area, it's not a bad time.
We took the Tour in July and it was AWESOME !!!!!LOVED it... Highly Recommended , If you are around go for it . :)
Toured the brewery with a group from my professional organization. As soon as I got the opportunity to tour the Labatt's, I knew it was going to be interesting. After the tour, it was what I expected and then some. The tour guides were very well versed. We were taken through all parts of the plant from processing of the raw ingredients to the final packaging. It is an amazing process to see. At the end of the tour, you will get to see the 1919 keg truck and the Labatt Streamliner. There is a lot of great history in that plant; would be very worthwhile taking the time for a tour if passing through or visiting the area. All Londoners should make a point of taking a tour and take in some great home grown history.
We went on a tour of the Labatt Brewery and we (my husband and I) were the only two people on the tour! Was a fascinating place - huge operation! Very impressive. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
My husband and I have been on several tours and have enjoyed every one of them! We like seeing where these fine refreshments are made and bottled. We also enjoyed the tasting room...need I say more! Oh yes, and you get a t-shirt too!
We really enjoyed the Labatt Brewery tour. Visitors have a good vantage point for watchiing the assembly lines. Our tour guide had a sense of humor, which always makes learning anything more fun. Nice tasting room. And I liked the way the tasting itself was conducted. Fun and informative. Highly recommend.
I was in London for a business trip and had an afternoon off so went on the tour. The tour was informative and it was great that they are so green oriented in their process. The tasting room is beautiful and it is a shame that it is not available to rent out. The tour guide was witty and did a great job.
You will need to make arrangements in advance if you want to tour this working brewery, but it is definitely worth it. The tour lasts nearly two hours if you include the tasting at the end. We had a knowledgeable guide, and we covered all aspects of the brewing process. At the end, we were given samples of five different beers and souvenir T-shirts.
My boyfriend and I toured the Brewery a couple weeks ago, worth $10 each for sure. Our guide was great and we actually learned a lot. Large free samples at the end of the tour were great too. Worth a few hours of your day!
great tour! Worth taking! Beer tasted good too. Interesting information.
