the arlington

Walking past the one gas station in Maynooth to the convince store a man who was getting gas had a dog in his truck who barked as people passed. I heard what I thought was another dog barking from across the street. I looked over to see a cheery white haired hippy looking skinny santa sweeping the steps of the Arlington barking and growling back at the dog. It struck me as very very funny. I never had the privilege of staying at the Arlington or meeting said gentleman who I believe was the proprietor. However he had as sign beside the Arlington that was a huge chalkboard that read what would you like to do before you die. Many lines and empty spaces. I went over and wrote in Sky dive.Beside the Arlington was a barn that had a sign outside that read Flea Market. My husband and I entered and were greeted by a gentleman who was an artist in the process of converting the space to an environment to allow local artists to work. The items for sale was to go towards funding this project. He explained that the Arlington was an international Hostel and a pub existed below. I was anxious to check it out next visit and meet the character who had been barking at the dog and had the very cool sign.
