This sport complex is new, up to date for hockey, entertainment, and much more, parking, food, centrally located, La quintal hotel is one block away, brand new to Oshawa,See you soon,Peter. E. Mercado, C.E.T.

I have been to many concerts here and hockey games from a box. Its like a mini Air Canada center. Easy in and easy out, of course with every venue good seats are a must. Easy to get around when your inside. Parking easy and cheap near by. The food like typical bar food in a pub, and if lucky you get reserve or find seats along the window of the bar overlooking the venue. My biggest complaint is how they serve drinks.... they can't make you a mixed drink with two ounces of alcohol such as a black Russian, and how early they close down the bars during a running venue.... .

We have been to the GM Centre for many hockey games and concerts! The venue isn't too big, and the atmosphere can be electric. A great venue for family entertainment, and great sound for a rock'n good time! We sat front and centre for a John Mellencamp concert .. fantastic show!

A brilliantly built arena that needs some improvements. The PA system is terrible. 90% of the announcements are inaudible...lots of volume, no clarity. The washrooms ran out of paper towel half way through the game. The Zamboni timing is bad and players are on the ice when it is still wet. Those criticisms being made, the arena is well designed and the Generals play great hockey.

My wife and I went on a four city OHL road trip in October. Oshawa was one of the arenas that I felt that we needed to visit. We attended a Sunday evening game against S.S. Marie. Although it wasn't sold out, which was disappointing, the atmosphere was great and the hockey was great as well, as the Generals and Greyhounds are two of the better teams in the OHL so far this year. The building is perfect for hockey. It was great to see the banners in the rafters and the signs around the concourse of the former stars. The video portion of the scoreboard needs to be replaced, and I noticed a couple of the older lady super fans sending around a petition during intermission to get it replaced. The people sitting around us were friendly as well. I also thought the bar area was a unique addition and had we been a group of four, I might have tried that to watch the game and have dinner. It might be hard to see some of the other less-appealing rinks in the OHL when I would want to go back to the GM Centre.

Our grandson had a hockey game scheduled here in a package which included a Junior A game between the Generals and Erie Otters. The seats aren't all that bad for comfort and it appears that there is not a bad seat in the house. Food and drink is a little pricey but not as bad as ACC or Rogers Centre. The bride has been here before for a figure skating show and raved about the venue.

Great venue. New Rink in Oshawa is perfect for our junior hockey team, The Oshawa Generals, and a great sound for concerts as well. Depending on the event, holds around 6000 for hockey I believe and more for concerts. Has a bar and restaurant, (however don't go there hungry or thursty, prices are ridiculous) comfortable seating, and is located right downtown.Parking is available throughout the downtown streets, private lots on the south side, and city garage lot to the north. They also have pro basketball and pro Lacross teams playing here. Walk to many restaurants, coffee shops, and a new hotel is being built around the corner. It is lacking some vision and there is always room for improvement, an outdoor patio bar/bbq and a bit of shelter for smokers would be civilized in comparison to the windy cold concrete entrance area they chose to go with.

Show was great and since it is small you could see everything. Beer was usual expensive at these places costing 11.25 each.

I Booked a table inside the Prospect's bar.Great idea I thought. We arrived at the bar at 7:10 pm,to be told that there was a couple seated at our table, and there policy was that they could sit there until 7:30 pm.??? The bar area was packed,so it was SHLIGHTLY inconvenient, and being that I had paid $426.50 for 4 seat's at a "reserved table",I ,we were very confused, and upset.Sightline's were good for the stage.there was a big screen up to the right of the stage that 10% of the bottom of the screen was visible from our table. The server did a great Job,the beverage's were of good quality, reasonably priced. We ordered some apps, which were good, then ordered 2 orders of chicken bites, which read like they would be good, but the 4 of us agreed, left much to be desired.I told our server, she was apologetic. Then, without notice we,every one got there closing bill's.I asked our neighbor's around us if they were advised of "last call".4 tables around us told me that none was mentioned?I asked our server, who looked confused, and said that she was not given a head's up.I asked for the manager, she was nowhere to be found. Then I thought, being that I am born and raised in Toronto,a cosmopolitan city, maybe the liquor board rule's are different in oshawa. The venue for the show was good, the Prospect's Bar and Grill definitely has potential, maybe the chicken was off that day?

We saw John Fogerty at the GM Centre and I had heard this place was just the greatest. Our seats were on the floor and, really, I was surprised. We were in row 24 so when I bought the tickets I figured we would be kind of close to the stage. Thank goodness for the big screens because we couldn't see much! The seats are all on one level and once anyone stands up that's it--you can't see! This set up is okay for sports events but not music shows. The sound went out a couple of times too. And I couldn't believe how many people were walking around--getting beer and whatever! Aren't you there to watch the show? And all the seats were was a folding chair bolted to the ground. Anyway we loved the show but I won't be going back for another music show unless I'm in the first couple of rows!

Go see the Oshawa Generals in this state of the art facility. Concessions are expensive. $3.75 for a small pop...Come on

Hockey, Basketball, etc. great venue for sports. Not so much for music. Acoustics are terrible or possibly its the way the speakers are set up but I have not been impressed with any concerts I have seen here,Go GENS Go!

Winkey26

Great hockey, great concerts, great parking, wish I could get better food, Diabetic just need some whole grain stuff as a choice, I can get veges through in-seat service that is a good one as most other places where there are sports do not offer anything that I can eat.

I went to see Queens of the Stoneage last night, and the seats were awesome! The layout, washrooms, food and beverage areas were all excellent. I've been here before for sporting events, and have been quite pleased as well. My only issue was that once the music started and the light-show from the band went on, we couldn't see anything. A pair of big screens to either side of the stage might help concert goers see their fav musicians doing their thing on stage without having to be in the front five or six rows. That's a big part live shows to see the band in action. With such a great venue in this area, and great access the addition of some big screens to see the performers would be a welcome addition.
