Tucked away, we totally enjoyed the hike to the falls - not too difficult to do so great for families with active children - a break from driving.
This was a beautiful trail and waterfall a short drive outside of Baddeck. A must see! I am so glad that we found it! We did get a bit lost, as we were following a map on our cell phone, and we lost reception part way there. Definitely bring water and bug spray!
Loved walking the quiet trail with a few flurries floating down! the falls themseves were stunning and the surroundings so peaceful and calming.
Enjoyable trail to the falls. There are a few different trails to take of varying lengths so something for everyone. It's about a 10 - 15 minute drive from Baddeck. The visitor's center has a good map to get you there.
Didn't see a single other person on the trail! Gorgeous!Rough road to get there though...and minimal signage.
I did this hike as a cruise ship shore excursion.Very pleasant walk not too difficult at all with very pretty vistas along the trail. The falls themselves are fairly impressive.Nice picnic area near the car park.Recommended.
It was an easy hike in and we were the only people there during our time at the falls. Total time spent on the trail was about an hour and a half. The forest is very dense at the start. (Tip: At the parking lot, where the trail begins, bear left at all intersections on the trail for the shortest route to the falls.)
Be prepared for a hike. That's not a bad thing, but you don't know this till you get there. It is a rough path so it is meant for hikers, not just a short touristy adventure. Always nice to see falls though.
Beautiful Walk, Beautiful Falls, Easy walking, our four year old loved it. The leaves in the fall make this well worth the short walk. Have done this hike numerous times. Would highly recommend. A light walk and not challenging hike. Approximately 1/2 hr in and 1/2 hr out.
Short hike (1.2 hrs) outside Baddeck(nova scotia) . Beautiful fall colours. Hike was fairly easy and gradient was not difficult. Went with friends (including dogs)(non-hikers and everyone had good time. Waterfalls were worthwhile to view. Located in provincial park- only downer was toilets out of toilet paper (we made a donation). Great weather , excellent excursion.
The walk is not very long (c. 3k) but was my favorite in Nova Scotia, so picturesque - not distant views but of river tumbling over stones, amazing trees growing over rocks and of course the water fall.
This stop was absolutely worth it! A beautiful walk (about 1/2 hour to the falls) and a stunning waterfall as a reward. Highly recommended!
Our visit to Nova Scotia left little time for hiking but we made time to walk to this lovely waterfall mid afternoon after visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. We enjoyed the walk in but had the unfortunate experience of a thunderstorm and torrential rain just as we had completed taking photographs. The dry path we'd walked along was deep in running water so we had to abandon walking along the other trails.Huge car park with picnic tables but when we arrived there were only two other cars in the parking area.
Uisage Ban Falls feels really out of the way as you travel down dirt roads to find it, but once you're there you'll probably see plenty of other cars in the parking lot as it's quite popular. The hike to the falls is easy, and my GPS measured it at about .75 miles one way. The falls themselves are impressive in height, certainly more than one would expect on approach. And the pool at the bottom is an excellent spot for photos. The trail seems to be popular with hikers of every shape and size, and we saw quite a few dogs enjoying the trail as well. This is a worthwhile leg stretch in the Baddeck area.
Beautiful little hike in the woods to a beautiful waterfall. The hike itself is not too strenuous, but the terrain is very uneven and you have to be careful. Should only take an hour or two.
