When you enter Golden Ears Provincial Park you have entered one of the most spectacular parks in British Columbia. Trails of every level are all through the park. Mountains, rivers, lakes, picnic area is beautiful. If you live here are visiting here, put Golden Ears Provincial Park on your agenda, you won't regret it.

The park is pristine, well groomed and stunning. Summer is crazy busy and it does make it difficult to enjoy the park for space, parking and noise, which is the only downfall. But can you fault the masses for wanting to enjoy the beauty this park has to offer?

The park is great for hiking, walking, camping, enjoying nature, fishing, swimming, family entertainment or just a place to enjoy nature, picnicking and the outdoors. It is an all-round place and so close to the main town, but far enough away to make it a nature experience. The USA Research Forest is also up another road close by and there are many wild rabbits there (tame too, as you can feed them).

Great park with many walking tracks and photo opportunities. A lovely peaceful spot for all people to enjoy.

Summertime here has an excessive amount of locals, and tourists alike. With limited parking, campsites and space, coming in the summer can be a challenge, and no fun if you're not into the crowds. The campsites are very typical of a provincial park - Expect to be able to see and hear your neighbours. Fall/Winter/Early spring still has great camping and hiking, but with less of the mess, albeit with less of the facilities (showers / flush toilets are closed). In the off season, it's also much easier to locate a more secluded campsite and enjoy some serenity and privacy. Camp fees are also less outside of summer. Sure, it's often colder and wetter, but it's much more peaceful. Hiking trails are still maintained throughout the off season months and are a more peaceful walk when you're not dodging other pedestrians, their horses and dogs. Campsites are often full of 'weekend warrior' yuppies with their 50' 5th wheel houses and noisy, unsupervised children, in all seasons. Avoid them by selecting a site near other small sites, so their houses on wheels won't fit.

Nicest provincial park in the area. We really love camping here. There are nice trails for hiking as well.

Can't be beat for a picnic at the lakeside. Beautiful mountain setting. North trail is a nice easy scenic hike. Camping sucks as does nearly all provincial park camping these days. Water is deadly cold so swim if the temperature is blazing hot...or just wet your feet LOL.

Lovely picnic area...canoe and kayaking lake....lovely pools of brilliant blue waters...and hiking trails from beginner to experienced......also,camping areas for all. A community picnic area and water park on the entrance to the park........makes a easy transition for bored children!!

One of BC's most popular park. Very close to Vancouver proper and the cities in the lower mainland it is only a very short drive into the mountains and wilderness of BC. Overnight camping facilities fill almost every night and there is an extensive day area and boat launch, both of which are very popular on the parks large lake. Extensive hiking trails and trails are available for horses as well. The perfect combination of close to the city and the wilderness at the same time.

A great park with many great hikes, a nice campground (get reservations) a huge beach with many picnic tables. The water is a bit cool except in the summer. Many day hikes including one to the very top of the Golden Ears, a long dayhike but also worthy of an overnighter, we did it 20 years ago with 10 and 12 year olds, adults did the major packing, tents etc. The view from the top is spectacular, Pitt Lake on the right, the Fraser River in front and a view right into Washington.

Multiple well maintained trails for humans and horses wind through the woods and mountains in Golden Ears Park. We love kayaking on Alouette Lake. It's large enough that any power boats on the lake are able to stay a fair distance away from the kayakers and canoeists. The water, shoreline and mountain vistas are spectacular.

Beautiful park so close to town yet you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. There are some great trails, great boating and a couple really nice camping spots.

An extensive forest park within an hour of Vancouver! Trails for walking and mountain bikes. Breath the cool mountain air, relax and renew! Great for family fun and outdoor experience.

This is a great park. Whether to come for the day, or stay overnight. It's got gorgeous scenery and cool clean water. Had a solid day of kayaking on the lake and will be back again. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because of the difficulty in reserving a spot due to shear volume.

I love the numerous choices of nature trails of various hiking levels, from beginners to advanced. The scenery and foliage is breathtaking. My husband takes our dogs there at least once a week. They love to drink from the many little streams meandering through the hillside and tumbling from the mountains. One can also choose flat trails equally beautiful and safe.
