Make a plan to stop in to do some wine tasting, check out the lovely grounds and sitting areas and shop for some wine accessories. Staff are friendly and the wines are worthy of tasting. If you have time stop in after getting off the ferry in Fulford and driving to Ganges.

We arrived in a wheelchair van but because the drive thru lane was full of wine making equipment we couldn't drive down to the entrance of the tasting room. The wonderful staff made arrangements to perform the wine tasting at the gazebo. She set everything up and made us feel like it was no problem. She went beyond her normal day and the 6 of us enjoyed an informative tour. Will definitely go back.

We spent 2 nights at the Salt Spring Vine Yards which was very pleasant with staff knowledgeable of the wines produced --It has landscaped and safe garden for young grandchildren to run around in and enjoy the ducks and the pond and pick blackberries. Our room was exceedingly hot (no air conditioning) or portable fan provided other than a ceiling fan that was likely old and ineffective. The bed and mattress was poor and should be replaced -- the room is decorated for romantic weekends and is priced high accordingly. The bathroom was very nice and the shower in the center of the room was fun. My young grandson wanted to have a shower with his clothes on. Breakfast was continental served in a basket and left outside the room in the morning. Overall very pleasant place but clearly a vineyard is their prime business rather than a luxury B+B..

We loved the tasting area and the selections. The staff was very informative about what they were offering and not wine snobs like we have found in other places. It was a very busy Sunday when we visited, so not enough tables for seating. Probably because they had a singing group for entertainment. I also would have enjoyed seeing a cheese and cracker appetizer offered for a fee, of course to go with the glass of wine we bought.I must say, we enjoyed our tasting and purchased 3 bottles of wine I might never have tried otherwise!!

We're two friends with summer birthdays who plan secret outings for one another every year. This year, my friend planned a day at the Salt Spring Vineyards and we had a fabulous time, rain and all.We started with a brief tour, learning about the vines and varietals and we received a good education about their very special Léon Millot grapes and the incredible terroir available on the lower slopes of Mount Maxwell. We tasted five of their wines and each one had something special to offer. I took home a bottle of the Aromata--it has a lovely bouquet and pairs well with a range of appetizers and entrées. We enjoyed a glass of the sparkling Karma with lunch. And we took home the Apple Pie dessert wine, which is not as sweet as it sounds. We enjoyed our picnic lunch under the shelter of a quaint gazebo that looks out over the vineyards and a very picturesque pond, gardens and picnic tables. The beautiful roses that grow on the end of the rows in the vineyards are "canaries in the coal mine," explained Barbara, the owner. They let the growers know if any mold or pest might be present and about to attack the vines. You could spend an entire day enjoying this venue. If you don't have a picnic, they have a fridge stocked with cheeses and spreads to enjoy with wines that they sell by the glass. They have crackers or bread to go with that. If you want an inexpensive picnic, bring your own food.Check the web site for more info and for live music events. You can't go wrong heading out to Salt Spring Vineyards for an outing. The ferry ride is pricey but you can take in the Saturday market or browse the many shops in Ganges, or simply take a scenic drive around the Island. Even if you have just an hour to spare, stop in for a taste of Salt Spring's special wines. And don't forget to look for their wines in area restaurants. You'll be glad you found a local delight.

We really enjoyed our visit to this winery. The setting is lovely with flowers and a pond and outside seating. The wines were very good. Unfortunately we couldn't bring them all back to California for our friends to try! Really recommend you try this place.

Very relaxing stop between the Fulford Ferry Terminal and Ganges. Can't comment on the wine as I didn't actually try it.

I have been to Salt Spring Vineyards before and always had a lovely experience but this time I went to Jazz in the Vineyards and it was a perfect afternoon. We found a seat in front of the band (Sue Newman and the Jazzmen) and bought a bottle of Karma (the sparkling wine) and a few little snacks and whiled away a lovely afternoon listening to old style jazz standards performed by a lovely chanteuse and her extremely talented band (including an extremely talented sax player by the name of Jock Budelman who shared stories of performing with such greats as Harry Belafonte, Sarah Vaughn and Peggy Lee). Later we went and tasted a few more of the offerings and went home with bottles of both the red and white evolution - made with grapes developed specifically for the Salt Spring Island climate - new varietals. The winery is always worth a visit, with good wine, charming hosts and beautiful gardens, but if you can add some fine jazz to the mix, you have a very special afternoon indeed. Music runs through the summer - check the website for dates.

A small owner-operated vineyard 15-minute from Ganges town and the grounds are well managed and very nicely maintained. Great for picnic with family, but be mindful to keep it a quiet environment for everyone else to enjoy. The best thing about the vineyard is that it is not commercialized like some others in the Okanagan and its surrounding creates an out-of country experience.

We stopped at Salt Spring Vineyards as part of a "Best of Salt Spring Island" tour and this was one of the highlights of the trip. The grounds are well laid out with a beautiful pond, arbored seating area, and a seating area outside the tasting room. The tasting room is small and intimate, but can handle quite a few people at a time for tasting. You can taste many of the wines for free, but we opted to pay the $5/person to taste some of their award winning wines as well. Given their geographic location, they have chosen a number of varietals (many of which we weren't familiar with) that have grown well in similar regions in France. The tastings are accompanied with bites of various foods to understand pairing opportunities. After the tasting, we chose to buy a glass of our favorites and sit outside and listen to the jazz duo that was playing. They are fine with having you bring a picnic to enjoy with the wine. Definitely a fun stop and excellent wines!

We really enjoyed Salt Spring Vineyards. The grounds are beautiful, and the location is nice. just be aware that it can get brutally hot in the early evening, depending on what time of year you go. That being said - it's still worth the trip and don't forget to bring a picnic! The set-up is perfect for some wine and cheese.

I enjoyed my tasting at Salt Spring Vineyards. The wines were very nice and they offered a small sampling of local food with the tasting, which was a nice touch. I wish I could have purchased more to bring home!

This was the second time we had been to Salt Spring Vineyards. The grounds are like a park. The pairing/tasting is amazing! Chose 4 bottles of wine to take home and enjoy.

We stopped here during our short trip to Salt Spring Island. The vineyard was really cute and we enjoyed walking around a little bit. We also tried several wines for free! I liked two of the wines a lot. Nothing like a free tasting!

A beautiful spot for a wine tasting. Several fantastic wines. Bought a glass of our favourite after the tasting and sat in the patio overlooking the gardens and vines. Friendly, very knowledgable staff!
