The drive to the falls is about 1.5 hours mostly on a forest service road. The road can be rough depending on what time of year you go. Once there the site is truly wonderful. The falls are higher than Niagara Falls and the view of the river up to the falls and going over is beautiful. Well worth the trip!
one of the big water falls in BC. higher than Niagara and lots of volume. takes about 1.5 hours to get there on a good gravel road from TR
The service road from Tumbler Ridge to Monkman Provincial Park was rough and tough. I had to drive between 20-40 km/h with my van. I was scared of getting flat tires, but luckily never happened. Took me almost 1 hour and 45 minutes each way.I went to both the upper view point (250m) and the lower view point (200m). It was easy walk. The amount of water was less than what I expected, but was still good. There are so many falls and trails to explore in the park and you may want to spend more time to see what this park can offer.Kinuseo falls is the first falls you will encounter after entering the park.
The Kinuseo Falls took a long time to get to via the Murray River Forest Service Road, but the falls made up for the long drive. The falls are simply stunning, and we were glad that we made the trip out to them. It is definitely a must see when you're out in Tumbler Ridge. There is a trail that leads to the bottom of the falls, but it is unmaintained, and is steep. We only did the view point trail which is 200m from the parking lot. If you have a keen eye, you might also be able to see wildlife and birds on the way into the falls.
We had the best view of the falls by booking a helicopter tour with Ridge Rotors. Our pilot Dan was incredible. Not only did we see the falls, but he showed us the mine, and told us various points of interest and history in the area. It was the highlight of our trip! I have downloaded a small you tube video so you can see how much fun we had. Awesome.
It was a beautiful day for a day trip. The lower level view point was closed but a very beautiful place to visit.
The falls made the trip well worth it. The viewing platform is easily accessible from the road, leading to a lookout at the top of the falls. Another official trail leads to a higher viewpoint where you can see the face of the falls. For the more adventurous, there is a very rough trail/scramble to the base of the falls. It's not marked. Currently, the trail to the Murray river is closed due to deadfall. Watch for bears in the area!
Visited the falls yesterday morning after staying the night in Tumbler Ridge. The drive is mostly on gravel (40km) and we were really looking forward to standing at the bottom of a magnificent waterfall at the end of the road. Imagine our disappointment to get there and find that the viewing platform is back from the top, not even properly overlooking the falls. We looked around for a signposted path to the bottom and couldn't find one so left, disappointed for another gravel hour to get back to the highway.
The drive is slow to the falls as the road is very rutty but worth every minute of it! The falls are beautiful and I think my only wish is that there was a way to view them from the bottom of the falls. The viewpoint is from the top of them. I wish they would make a stairwell and a viewpoint from the bottom of them. We did phone a riverboat tour company for a ride up the river but out of our pricepoint of $800.00 for 4 people.
We traveled from Arras to Kinuseo it was a very long hot drive down an unpaved dusty road. It was a bit hard to find. Not well marked. But let me say this, the view was well worth the drive! There was two viewing areas we looked from. One is right at the peak of the falls and the other is from about 200m above them. Easy to walk to and the trails were well maintained.
Well worth making a trip to see these spectacular falls, check with the locals before going to make sure of road conditions and campground facilities
Don't miss out on this one! Well worth the drive from anywhere!

If you're around Tumbler Ridge, this is a great side trip. You will drive on a gravel road to these falls. However, when you get there, it is a beautiful setting for a hike, picnic or just viewing. You can also book a boat trip from Tumbler to the falls. Visit the Tourism office in Tumbler. They will take care of you.
Es ist ein beschwerlicher Weg zu den Fällen aber er lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Der Anblick ist Überwältigend und mit ein bisschen Glück findet man sehr schöne Versteinerungen am Wegesrand.
