Reply to " bry569 "I went at the Crystal mine in Québec so many times and it was always an amazing experience.I never had a bad comment about the staff and owners of this mine. They do everything to make your visit a very good experience. You should explained to the manager your difficulty to follow the group at the first area , not at the end of your journey and I am sure they would corrected the situation right away. Maybe also were you frustrated and not so polite with the manager ????I just want to remind English people that they are very lucky to get a translation in English. If you do not speak English and go in USA and other canadian provinces than Québec , nobody will even try to translate in another language than english.I hope you will try again, because it is an excellent opportuny to understand more about Crystal.Gilles Bacon
I have been there twice because I wanted some friends to see the place. I really enjoyed the presentation relating how crystals form itself, what it is used for and what we can do with it. The visit of the opened mine did not impress me that much when I was looking at it from the hill but I was pleasantly surprised when I went down to see the crystal at its most natural state. There is a very nice boutique full of different stones, semi-precious, and all kind of related stuff (I got a couple of Christmas gifts there) There is a little interesting museum attach to the store. The people are very friendly and you almost feel like if your at a friend's place. Overall: It is a not a big place with a lot of expensive stuff to attract your eyes but if you want to see something out of the ordinary...I would even say fascinating...that open your mind on human life and its relation with the earth...you are at the right place.
I was so excited to discover that we have a quartz crystal mine in Quebec and I was very pleased with my visit. The owners have taken care to preserve the mine and only sell a limited amount of crystals from the mine each year. I bought a beautiful crystal which was very reasonably priced. The guided tour of the mine was excellent and we enjoyed the museum and store but the highlight for me was the amazing concert of crystal bowls and crystal harps. The owner warned us that many of us would "nod off" during the concert and he was right, I certainly did. It was so relaxing and I could literally feel the vibrations coming off the instruments. The crystal harp is made at the crystal mine and it resembles a xylophone. We were asked to close our eyes and I think that enhanced the experience. I loved it and will go back. I would love to take one of their courses as well.
I visited Mine Cristal a couple of times, one of which was with a couple of friends for a Christmas concert with crystal bowls, and the room was full. We throroughly enjoyed it! It was charming, amusing, and the sounds were beautiful and inspiring. The boutique has many beautiful items for sale, and I could spend hours looking at everything... I'm looking forward to doing the mine tour in the near future. What better way to discover Mine Cristal than for you to visit it.Chantal
First of all, the environment is breathtaking with the belvedere on the Appalachian montains. Then we realise how peaceful it is to be there.I particularly appreciated every one working there. The mine tour is very instructive. I have learned how close is our relationship with the quartz. No Wonder why we feel at home at Cristal Mine.If you have time I strongly suggest you participe to a concert. You will appreciate the very subtle contact of cristal quartz true the sound of it. Very intimate and relaxing experience.
It was a great pleasure for me to be at the mine just to feel the energy of the crystals. The tour was so interesting and full of information I didn't know about these magical crystals. The concert was phenomenal, powerfully purifying and energizing. I have never felt music so profoundly than the music played by Pauline and Gaudry. The whole place vibrates echoes of love and beauty. Worth visiting and most especially attending the concert.
Mine Cristal is an exceptional site to discover with its majestic crystals. Being a crystals collector, I found some of the purest crystal quartz available worldwide. The site itself carries a very high frequency with beautiful energies emanating from nature. The tour is a great way to enjoy the site, as well as the museum and the boutique where every crystal lover will find a piece to bring home! It's a place to visit more than once as every time you will discover something new! I look forward to hear about the upcoming events of the mine and I thank all the team working there for making this experience one to remember!!Lysane
I really like the boutique , and the ground visit of the mine. But the mini crital consert every sunday is a must. Wonderfull owners that really knows there cristals and frendly staff. I have already visited them 3 times and like it every times ...Thanks
I've been visiting the crystal mine several times in the last 25 years. It's the best place on earth to visit crystals and feel a connection with your spirit. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a special journey. The site owners, Gaudry and Pauline are very friendly and experts in their field.
Today a friend and I visited the MIne Cristal. The info from the computer mentioned that the tours are given in French but there is no cost for the tour in English on an IPod Shuffle. This sounded good and we arrived in time for the 90 minute tour beginning at 1:30 pm. And off we went, well no, off the tour leader went at a rapid clip and the others followed, My friend and I are both 71 years old and we do not move quite so quickly. We soon were well behind the group and were not sure exactly where we were going. By the time we caught up with the group the leader had begun her spiel. This meant we had to hurry to catch up with our English version so we would be in sync. Then on to the next area and again the group led by Speedy Gonzales arrived well ahead of us. We could not see them at all as we were walking which meant it was impossible for anyone to see us.This happened throughout the tour. I have travelled around the world and taken many tours and never have I been left to fend on my own as I had today. I was appalled. I realized after that the tour had been shortened by thirty minutes-well, no wonder the tour guide was in one giant hurry.I would absolutely not recommend this environment to anyone. And when we complained to the manager she was rude and defensive. Ooops. not a good way to attract customers. No wonder on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon there were only nine people in the tour.
Today my friend and I visited Mine Cristal. The web site promised a guided tour for a duration of 90 minutes. The cost of the tour for adults is $11.50 including tax. The English version of the tour is offered on an iPod Shuffle "at no extra charge!". It is only now that I am noticing the exclamation mark after the statement of not having to pay more to hear it in English.Today is Saturday, July 5th, a beautiful sunny day in Bonsecours, Quebec. Upon arriving, i remarked to my friend that I found it strange that at the height of the tourist season, there were very few visitors at the site. Mine Cristal offered a guided tour, a store selling crystal products, and a little museum. The bathrooms were porta potties. There was a sink with running water, but one terrycloth towel was supplied to be shared by the public. We registered a half hour early to take the scheduled tour at 1:30 p.m. The tour guide led the tour of 9 people including my friend and me. The tour involved walking through pathways in and out of the forest and up and down hills, and to say the least, through beautiful scenic views, before reaching the mine. The tour guide walked quickly, leading the other 7 people and leaving the 2 of us behind.and unaccompanied. We could not keep up with her. When we reached the first destination, she was already into her presentation. She continued to leave us behind throughout the whole tour. We had to look for where the group was, as there were several interconnecting paths within the forest. The tour lasted 1 hour, not the promised 90 minutes. So, what was the reason for leaving us behind? We are 2 seniors. Even if we would not be seniors, given that we were unaccompanied, what if we would have fallen on the rough paths and rocky hills in and out of the forest?Upon returning to the store, we asked to speak to the manager. She abruptly asked to have the iPods back before we began to speak to her.We informed the manager that we were left behind. She curtly responded that we don't speak French anyways, so we didn't miss anything. She did not take the time to know that I understand and speak French, but I am not fluent. She did not take the time to know that i would have liked to be able to relax and enjoy interaction rather than be rushed through the whole tour. The manager rebuffed us responding that they never received complaints and that we could fill out a card outside if we wanted to.We had hoped to buy some crystal at the store and to view what was on display at the little museum. We felt so unwelcome that we left.
