Our visit to this ecomuseum was fun, informative, and brief. Indeed, the attractive building houses homemade costumes and masks, photos and videos, and a smallish theatre where they show a short film on mid-Lent traditions in Fatima. At the reception desk, we were greeted by a very friendly guide who did his utmost to promote this local museum and who managed to convince us to fork over $10 each for the 45-minute visit. We were each given an audio guide (available in both French and English) for the tour.We enjoyed our visit and our chat with the guide, but felt that the entry fee of $10 per adult and $6 per child (ages 5 thru 17) was a bit high. Further, they did not have a family rate or a senior's rate, but they do have a group rate. Most likely, inadequate funding by the various levels of government makes it impossible for them to offer a more user-friendly rate. A family of four would end up paying $32 for a visit that takes less than an hour. We would like to see the museum increase the number of exhibits, include interactive elements (especially for children), and add costumed figures outside the museum to attract visitors driving or riding by. Having live musicians on weekends to entertain visitors would be a plus. Then, the entry fees would not be an issue. Oh, and could we have a bicycle rack outside the museum? It would be mostappreciated.PS If you decide to visit, check out the beautiful gazebo next to the ecomuseum, and the outdoor gym at the back.
