This brewery has an amazing assortment of beer. I let them pick out what I drank after discussing my tastes. I drank an assortment of small glasses. I had the bacon pizza and shared nachos and pickled eggs. All was delicious but the menu wasn't extensive.I would definitely return. Their beer is fantastic and the place was full.

We came here for drinks the last time we visited Montreal based on a recommendation. The ambience was cozy. The beer selection was excellent. I had a chocolate ale that was surprisingly good. Will definitely return.

Went here after a day walking around the city. It was very easy to get to by bus. The place is tiny and definitely cramped, but the atmosphere was fun and casual, with a pretty wide variety of clientele. Our waitress was friendly and easily switched to English when lost track of the French. We tried four different beers between us and they were all very good (especially the coffee imperial stout!). For food we ordered a grilled cheese with pork and a smoked duck sandwich. I didn't try the grilled cheese, but my wife said it was really good. My smoked duck was ridiculous, with a nice crunchy, finely shredded sauerkraut and a cornichon. The duck was smoky and fatty and perfect; I certainly wasn't expecting anything this tasty, but it was really wonderful! Two people around us had the pizza and it was tiny but looked pretty good.I definitely recommend this place! You can walk down Av. Laurent afterward, which has some swanky shops, or just wander around plateau Montreal , which is a hip part of town.

I made the pilgrimage having had a couple of their beers on import. If you are in any way someone who enjoys good beer (of many types) you can't lose going here. Some truly awesome brews. And from one tiny corner of the bar some really top notch bar food is created. Service is friendly and welcoming and the bar staff are very knowledgeable about their beer. With so many beers and so little time I went two nights running. Other local microbrewery bars can't hold a candle to this place.DIeu du ciel's no 1 ranking is well deserved.

The Pesh Immortale (sp?) tastes like a dark chocolate expresso bean! Really great variety of beers for such a small place.

This place is everything you want/need in a bar. It is fairly small which gives it an intimate feeling, along with the fact that it is kind of hidden in the middle of the neighborhood. The beer list is great and they offer several different sizes, including a 6oz glass, which makes it very easy to try several all while not spending a fortune. The staff is very friendly and polite. Even thought my wife and I only spoke English our server was very helpful and made us feel welcome. All in all, great beer, great environment, for a great price.

This pub was highly recommended so we took the metro train then transferred to the #51 bus. Yes it was a bit of a hike from our downtown hotel, but definitely worth it. It is such a quaint place, very much a part of the residential neighbourhood where locals meet and hang out. It was very busy, yet tables seemed to turn over frequently enough that no one waited long. I tried 2 of their brews, a blonde lager called Rigor Mortis which was tasty and a rose coloured Hibiscus which was almost fruity tasting, I really liked it and found it very refreshing. My son tried 3 different stouts and he really enjoyed them all. Most of their extensive beer menu came in either sample sized glasses or pints or mugs, priced anywhere from $2.50 up to $9.00 so something for everyone's budget. Their food was also good and cheap. A ham sandwich for $5.00 and a good sized personal pizza for $10.75 hard to beat a dinner for 2 with 5 beer for $36.We would have loved to try a few more of their beer if we didn't have to travel back so far with my tiny bladder.

My friends and I randomly found this joint not knowing what it was. I ordered a chocolate stout and some nachos. Amazing beers, really. The place is really fun and low-key. Not pretentious. It is in a more francophone area, but English-speakers will be fine. The servers are kind and helpful. Our server gave us a location to eat late-night poutine.A MUST-TRY if you are in Montreal.

We went on a Tuesday evening around 6 pm and the place was jam packed chaos. You just have to kind of hang around and wait for someone to leave then you claim your table. Once seated, all the beers we tried were pretty good. First time trying absinthe as well and our server was kind enough to explain to me what to do lol. Fun place unless crowds get under your skin, but maybe I was there at a peak time.

18 different locally brewed beers,it was national IPA day when I was there so I had 3/4 of the IPAs they had and they were all superb! Wish I could've made a few visits,it is a bit out of the way from downtown though. Some excellent finger food munchies as well. I can imagine the place is bustling at night but was very relaxed and quiet for some afternoon beers, but beware they don't open til 3pm! Will return!

I had read about this place on tripadvisor and put it on my list for us to try if we had time. After doing the Brewpub experience tour and getting a taste for the local beers we were hooked. We asked our tour guide about this place and he agreed we had to check it out. Turns out it used to be his local haunt so if the beer tour guide says it's good, it's worth a shot.It is a bit further out of the downtown area located in the Mile End neighborhood but it is accessible by metro and bus (you can walk from downtown as well- about 30 minutes at a good pace). Inside has this heritage brewery feel and many locals were relaxing in small groups or sitting and reading along with their beer. We tried a few of their different brews and were able to taste some of the others we weren't sure about as well. They have a small menu which we didn't try but from an observer standpoint the food looked tasty. Overall this is one of the many wonderful Montreal Brewpubs worth checking out if you enjoy beer.

WhereAreWe?

My wife and I had asked about local brew pubs at our B&B, and this was their recommendation. The day we were there, they had sixteen beers on tap. By each having two of their three beer samplers, we managed to taste a dozen of them. As others have said, if you are into craft beers, this is the place to be in Montreal. If you like strong beers, and if they have it, try the Péché Mortel. It's a 9.5 ABV imperial stout that is fermented with espresso beans. We went on a Monday, around 5:30 and the place was packed with an after-work crowd, but it thinned out pretty well by 6:30. We stayed for dinner as well, which was fine, but the real draw here is the beer.

I bumped into this place by chance since I was staying around the corner. This is a local microbrew. They have a very large selection. I only tried a white beer but it was good. The clientele was very young and having a good time though not out of control. The serving staff was very friendly. They have a decent selection of bar food like cheese sandwich, pizza, and and nachos. I had a proscuitto pizza which was good but not substantial. Alcohol was very reasonably priced but the food was more pricy.

If you like beer, Dieu du Ciel is a fantastic place to drink amazing beer. The beer is great and the laid back vibe doesn't distract you from the purpose of going to this beer, drinking great beer.
