We booked a flight with this company over Mount Cook and the glaciers. There were only five of us on the flight plus the pilot. It was definitely worth every penny! The views were amazing and the pilot gave a great commentary throughout the flight. He did warn us that there might be too much cloud to see the glaciers but as it happened the cloud parted at the right moment. The flight was very smooth and it was easy to take photographs from the plane. It is not something we would normally do,spend money on something like this, but having done it, I would thoroughly recommend this trip. You have no idea of the size of the mountain range and glaciers unless you see it from the air.

Flew with Air Safaries with my wife on the 10.30am flight. Each passenger had their own window seat with ample leg room. Great views, camera opportunities and commentary from the crew on the Nomad aircraft for about an hour over the mountains, lakes and glaciers. Not cheap but worth it.

I took a trip today on Air Safaris. There were only 5 passengers on the flight. Matt the pilot was excellent pointing out key features. The flight was very smooth so I could take pictures out of the large windows. An unforgettable experience!

i have struggled on prevIous scenic flights elsewhere but this one was suitable even for one who suffers from flight nausea. The plane was also well suited for photography from the air of the peaks and glaciers.

Beautiful, incredible flight over the Southern Alps and glaciers. Amazing views. The flight and crew were great and well organized. Check early as the weather can change very quickly, the booking office will advise the best times.

This is a our second trip to Tekapo and we just had to do the flight up to Mt Cook and surrounding areas again. Whilst we couldn't arrange the helicopter trip during our stay (worse luck), our flight on the small fixed wing aircraft was sensational. A must do when in Tekapo. The staff in the Tekapo office were great and the crew at the airport very professional and friendly. Our pilot did a splendid job showing us the sights and provided great commentary. I highly recommend.

Flying in the mountains can mean some very changeable conditions, which often can include some light turbulence, our pilots always try to keep the flight as comfortable as possible. We are sorry to hear the start of your flight was a little bumpy!!The birds eye view of the National Parks is something else all together, a very different perspective from what you can see on the ground! Our pilots are very experienced and do their best to provide an 'up close' experience around our high peaks and largest glaciers. As you mentioned, we do not fly if conditions are affected by wind and cloud to a point where we are unable to see the main features or the flight would be uncomfortable with bumps.All of our aircraft are designed with flight seeing in mind and so each has the window seats and the wings above to ensure optimal viewing. Being able to visit the cockpit in flight is a little extra when flying in our largest aircraft and so you were even more lucky to experience this too!!
