Loved spying on the port at work from a great height. Interesting views of the coast and estuary too. Interesting drive to the look out along tree lined streets with significant houses that pre date the earthquake. Must do in Napier
Over looked a cruise ship that was in port. & also overlooked a very busy port that was in the same location, due to my husbands inability to walk far we did not walk to the main point to look towards Cape Kidnappers.
Lovely drive up to the look out, great views along the coast and to the harbour. Visit the 'compass' area at the top and sit and take in the beautiful flowers. A must visit.
Nice views of the port and the nearby areas. Interesting to see the activities in the port and the cruise boats.
Great lookout with great views. I visited twice as first day was cloudy but second day clear. So interesting to watch the activities at the port.
No doubting that Bluff Hill has great views, it's also a nice walk uphill from town. take the footpath up the side of the army cadet hall on coote rd and it's signposted. North Island is full of stunning views & scenery so this isn't up there with the best on offer but a nice way to while away a few hours
Great view overlooking the port. Husband would have been happy to sit there for ages watching the cranes loading and unloading. The gardens at the top are looking lovely.
If you're visiting the Hawkes Bay take a short break to drive up to the lookout at Bluff Hill, great views of Napier and the coastline out to sea. Great spot!
Can be driven to or walked up by various interesting routes. Stunning views at the top, little garden and walkways. Take the camera.
A good view of the bays and out to sea, We watched a cruiseliner coming into the docks from out at sea, and later got to talk to some of the passengers who were here for the day.
Bluff Hill Lookout is definitely worth going to, lots of photo opportunities and on a sunny day a picnic on the grass or picnic tables provided is a pleasure. The container ships come in and if your lucky you will see the little tugboats easing the container ship into its docking area and unloading.Even without this its still worth the lovely views and short walks around the Bluff and there are public toilets so that's always a plus.On the way down back to Napier you pass the Centennial Gardens so stop off if you have time for a wander round the beautiful gardens
On a beautiful day the vistas are beautiful with views of a working port, along Marine Parade and out to sea. Well worth the drive up Bluff Hill.
Look down over the working port and watch ships being loaded and unloaded - watch ships both big and small including cruise ships arrive and depart with assistance from tug boats very interestingGreat views up the coast and looking inland over the Ahuriri lagoons
The view from the top of this very narrow and windy road up the hill from Napier is definitely worth it. Super views over the harbour, although not the city.
worth going up if you have transport. We went up when a cruse ship was leaving the port making it exciting for our 4 year old. Great for photos as you can see out along both coast lines. I wouldn't go if the weather was poor.
