We stopped here on the way back to Hobart on a day trip. There is an exceptional array of wines available and about 7 or 8 selections of Pinot Noir. The Pinot was a highlight of Tasmania for me and my only regret was that I was the designated driver, so could only sample a small sip of each of the fantastic offerings. Although we did not dine there, the restaurant looked really nice and the grounds were very scenic.

If you like to take a scenic drive to the beautiful Huon Valley, the destination that is Home Hill is the deserving reward.Classy. Great, friendly service. Superb food stunningly presented. And their award winning wines slip down really well as a bonus. (By the glass is available). Our heroes were the rack of lamb and the steak. Simple food elevated to the divine level by much love in the kitchen. Well done guys!

We chose Home Hill Winery for lunch after reading Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed, the meals were some of the best we had tried while in Tasmania. The wines that we chose with the meals were great, they have a really good pinot noir. The service was excellent and the shop with the cellar door had some very interesting homewares which we had not seen any where else. Keep up the good work.

We stopped in at Home Hill for lunch while holidaying in southern Tasmania. The surroundings are peaceful, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely first-class - I highly recommend the Tasmanian salmon and the Apple tarte tatin which were both delicious. One of the best winery lunch experiences I've had.

Great location to have gourmet lunch. Some best food and wine in Tasmania can be had here. Highly recommend the beet root risotto and the wine too. Heaps of room for kids to play and watch fish and alpacas.

Our son fell asleep on our way back to Hobart from Richmond and since he needed the sleep, we kept on driving and decided on Huonville region. He woke up in Franklin but by then we'd passed the signs for this winery and were interested. We turned around in Franklin and confirmed our suspicions at the Huonville Information Centre - they helpfully said it was open and the food was good. Excellent - off we went. Great signposts helped us find it, we were excited by how good it looked and the sun came out right then. It was a sign. We sat outside, let our toddler run free on the lawn which allowed us to have the most relaxed lunch we've had in ages and enjoyed the view. We ordered bread to start (keeps a toddler happy; there's a great parenting tip!) which came with a beautiful tomato relish and amazing butter. Our mains were just as good - the perfect steak with vegies and amazing jus, a beetroot risotto with roasted vegies. Our dessert was good too - we shared a chia panna cotta (deliciously wobbly) with compressed fruit (seems to be a Tasmania trend...) and pistachio and orange biscotti. Better than the biscotti was the shortbread that came with our too-hot coffees. Perfect lunch - this should be a Hobart day-trip destination for foodies. It's great!

After a great lunch at Huon Manor Restaurant down the road, we loved tasting the gold medal winning Pinot Noirs of this impressive winery! Their Kelly's Reserve 2011 won Gold in a six nation competition - Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, South Africa and USA!Worth a drive from Hobart!Jeff and Donna WhiteRadnor, PA, USA

My husband and I ate here today whilst on holiday in the area. The food was extremely fresh and beautifully prepared. The Ocean Trout was a particular standout. Deserts were also lovely and very well priced. The service was pleasant and attentive. The view from any table is very scenic. Rolling green hills, cows and calves, grapes growing, it's quite pretty. We took our 3 year old along with us and were relieved that kids are welcome at such a fine dining location. They do encourage you (via a sign on the way in) to ensure that your kids, although very welcome, need to be mindful of other diners. Totally reasonable.I'd certainly make the trip back here.

We had a family birthday lunch and were blown away with the quality of the wine, the gorgeous sunny day and fabulous fresh Tasmanian produce. The staff were extremely helpful,me specially as we had two babies, changed tables from inside to outside and asked for a birthday dessert...nothing was too much trouble.I can't wait to go back!

Visited for a tasting and ended up staying for lunch. The whole experience was a highlight of, not only our day in the Huon Valley, but our whole trip to Tasmania. The new winery is an elegant rammed earth, timber and glass building with beautiful views of the vineyard. The Pinot Noir they produce is some of the finest in Australia and is winning major trophies in Europe and I recommend trying the whole range as well as the sparkling and dessert wine. The food was a bit of a revelation and the truffled mushroom risotto I had was probably the best I can remember outside of Tuscany. Neither food or wine are cheap but both are exceptional value for the level of care and attention that has obviously gone into them

On a short visit to Tasmania I drove past the Home Hill Winery and dopped in. Rosmary was washing glasses from the Sunday lunch function. What a warm an accomodating person and she is the owner! We got chatting and I had the priviledge of tasting their award winning wines even though I was flying out and could not buy any! Johan Grobbelaar, South Africa.

I stopped at Home Hill Winery for lunch on Saturday with friends & had an amazing time.... although we were never actually given the option of having a tasting - which we were expecting. WE shared Pork Belly, lamb racks & taster plate - all were cooked to perfection - v v tasty!! For dessert we had sticky date (which we were a bit dubious about cause we weren't sure the sauce sounded real nice - but we were pleasantly surprised:)), apple pastry & chocolate tart... we also ordered coffee to go with - DISGUSTING!! Mine was so hot I burnt my tongue & had to wait for a while before I could even pickup as there was no handle on the mug, burnt tasting & no latte art. Although we did get a complimentary shortbread with coffee:):) Overall a very pleasant experience!

We were down in the Huon for the day - a number of our friends have been married here so we dropped in to Home Hill to load up on wine for the Christmas break. Great value for a dozen mixed bottles, plus it's always been a picturesque setting.

Driving through the area we stopped for lunch and discovered a lovely restaurant . The staff were very welcoming and the food was the best I have experienced in Tasmania. The kangaroo with the reserve Pinot was a perfect match. I thoroughly recommend a visit if in the area.

The vineyard is a few kms outside Hobart. You can choose to eat outside or inside, with a pleasant aspect over the vines. As well as the restaurant you can taste their wine selection or browse for gifts in the souvenir shopWe enjoyed their unwooded Chardonnay with our meal. It is not fine dining but I don't think that they would claim that it wasIt is a good showcase for their wines.
