This wonderful regional museum is a delight. Beautifully set out with maritime, indigenous and local history. There is a gift shop attached. Every few months, there is a different exhibition in the art gallery section. The original Sydney Harbour ferry, Lady Denman, is the centerpiece and highlight of this wonderful place. If time is available, the walk around the fish sanctuary area and into the mangrove Eco area Boardwalk is well worth doing.

Amazing old ferry restored to its natural beauty. Lots of interesting exhibits and history. Walked in with Vera Hutton who invited us as guests to her art exhibition! Small shop with visitors centre inside.

The old ferry was very well restored and other boats were also being restored. We walked along the mangrove boardwalk and found it very interesting. The information centre and gift shop had helpful staff and interesting gifts

The museum was very good it had a great display of different artifacts and plans from ships built there and the Lady Denham herself on display.My husband had actually been on it when he was small.

It is a very interesting museum. It has several parts.The first part is focused on the history of ancient ships, utensils or maritime buildings in the area. There you can find the different projects to build the lighthouses, the different routes to discover the area, and many many objects recovered from ships, from chests to swords, but also cartography and instruments to navigate. A few videos and recordings help explain all this or other events (some tragedies) happened in the Bay.Another part is the Lady D. itself. You can even get on board, inside the actual ship, and think how it was to travel in those. Also there are a couple of videos showing the ship when it was 'in use'. There are also a couple of rooms displaying animals and some of them children-focused.The last part of the museum is the outside. There is a little pond in the back with fishes and a few old boats in restoring process. Also there is a very easy/short walk through the Mangroves. Its fun to see the mini-crabs run away. Its a wooden walk, very easy to walk.Outside there are picnic areas, toilets and the usual needs. ALso a shop and an information centre are part of the main building, both 'apart' from the museum. The man working there was really helpful. We visited the first day we arrived to get info, and days later to visit the museum.

Well presented. Helpful people. Beautiful spot. Not just the old Ferry but the walks through the mangroves - good interesting information.

Visited the museum with a friend and decided to walk from our apartment Sundeck in Fegent Street, told it is a 10 minute walk.45 minutes later my friend and I reached Lady Denman Museum it was worth the trip.The history of the ship was great & you can step into the past and walk on the bottom of the craft.The showing of Aborigine art is wonderful and great to see.When you have finished inside the museum go for a walk outside around the gardens and ponds very relaxing.Recommend atleast 4 hours + for this adventure.

Lady Denman museum is a tribute to community spirit and getting things done. Excellent presentation of the old wooden ferry and so glad it is preserved. Was a trip down memory lane. Nice setting also.

A great museum full of interesting exhibits for all ages.They often have special exhibits during the year ,adding to the joy of visiting this "Gem in Huskisson".If you visit Huskisson often get a Season Pass and take full advantage of all this place has to offer.

Having visited the Booderee National Park the day before, this was a timely follow up visit. We were entranced by the history of Jervis Bay,then there was more...so much more! Displays of boat building, aboriginal heritage, an amazing display of seafaring scientific equipment and of course the Lady Denman and outside activities. Well worth a visit when in the Jervis Bay area.

The museum itself is very good and worth a look. Gives a great insight into the history of boat building in the Huskisson area in the early days by Alf Settrie..Take a walk outside to the large fish pond and grab a bag of food and some bread and throw it off the jetty to watch the huge Bream and Blackfish swarm around to feed.If you venture up to the northern corner of the pond and look down into the water in the shallows, keep your eyes peeled for the monster flathead laying there. Up to around 4 to 5 kilos.If you are game enough, you can put a pilchard or piece of bread into the water and they will take it out of your hand.! Good footage can be obtained with a Go Pro camera if you have one as well.take the kids there , they''ll love it. Enjoy

This is a quiet, relaxing, interesting museum. With a stroll around the grounds it will only take an hour at the most. The presentation of the Lady Denman is very impressive. For those who remember when these ferries traversed Sydney Harbour it is a real nostalgia kick.

Great place for kids. The museum is really interesting as are the small collection of boats outside. The kids love feeding the fish and gulls in the fish pool and the Boardwalk.Sometimes there is a boomerang maker about and he demonstrates how to throw one.Nice little gift shop as well with lovely friendly informative staff.Well worth a visit.
