Enjoyed visiting and viewing the work of 2 local artists. Albert Smith and Fred Jefferies are currently on display. The gallery has displayed the artists work very well. The gallery has both artists paintings hung and set out well. I certainly recommend a visit if you appreciate art.
What a fantastic spot this is! A definite must as you travel through Ingham heading north or south on the Bruce Highway. The TYTO Regional Art Gallery is located in the TYTO Business precinct & can be accessed via the TYTO Wetlands Information Centre in Cooper Street or both Macrossan Avenues or McIlwraith Street entrances. There is loads of car parking for RV's & the like & Coles is located right across the road also in McIlwraith St.The Gallery always has exceptional displays on hand & is a lovely air conditioned venue also. The is a gift shop with some fantastic items for sale too!Right next to the Art Gallery is the TYTO Library which is a great layout with many inclusions & also air conditioned with such helpful staff:)Stop in & I guarantee you won't be disappointed!! Enjoy!!
I am a local (not an artist) who is consistently impressed by the quality of the exhibits on display at this gallery. Named after John Coburn, who was born in Ingham, the gallery presents a very professional hanging space for both local and visiting artists. The staff and volunteers are always very happy to share their knowledge of the shows and local area. You will be pleasantly surprised!!! Take the time to walk across to the Tyto Information Centre and climb up the viewing tower to check out the nearby wetlands....
Stopped on the way for a short break. Exhibition was good with kids art work. Pity restaurant was closed. Great piece of sand art in the court yard.
When we passed there it was closed for change of exhibition, but it seems a nice place. It seems to present local art. Some locals were preparing some art pieces in front of the door.It is adjacent to a library that is open daily.
