Some lovely galleries and interesting shops. Lots of cafes but we had just had an enormous breakfast at our B&B so did not try any. Piper St has plenty of great old world character and we really enjoyed exploring it.

Piper Street is an old-fashioned delight. Antiques, homewares, food and little shops with something different. Going on the day of the market (every second Saturday I think) is busy and it may be a good idea to book if you want to eat in one of the restaurants, but you'll love the produce in the market and the general ambiance of the street. Not too far from Melbourne, and well worth a visit.

Lots of boutique type shops along with the usual trendy cafes and restaurants. Recommend weekends only or for special events otherwise pretty quiet.

If you are in or around Kyneton then the heritage area of Piper Street is well worth a visit. There are a number of old buildings which have been restored sympathetically and still retain a weathered appearance. We always enjoy visiting The Garden Tap, a small nursery which is at the end of the heritage strip as you head towards Lauriston. Across the road is The Emporiumwhich has some nice home wares and gifts. There are a number of cafes and shops on both sides of the road. If you are driving from Melbourne to Daylesford a nice trip is to head up the Calder Highway and take the Kyneton exit, spend an hour in Piper Street, then take the scenic road through Lauriston, Drummond and Glenlyon to Daylesford. Another route option is to take the Woodend exit off the Calder and after passing through Woodend and Tylden take the Springhill Glenlyon road which once again is scenic and does not have much traffic. Most Melbourne people don't use these routes and if you have interstate or overseas visitors these routes are recommended.

Street and venues looking a little tired,perhaps street hanging baskets or grape vines adorning shops may help

We had dinner here on a Friday night in December. The food was excellent, including the "chicken fingers" kids meal our 4 year old son had: made with actual chicken breast instead of the usual manufactured chicken nuggets most places seem to serve! Although not cheap, this was a great place for a family dinner, and the hosts were friendly and helpful.

Cannot believe the range of food experiences in Kyneton-first class can't think of many other regional towns that offer such a depth of experience

Good place for a weekend day trip. Lots of cafes, restaurants and shops about 1 hour from the city. Have lunch at the Albion and drinks at the Royal George. Browse around the Emporium.

Visited the new Piper St Food Company cafe yesterday. Best coffee I've had in ages & a great selection of gluten free sweets.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Love the focus on local fresh food! It's not cheapest but it's quality cuisine and totally worth it.

This place is a foodies treat with great service, have your self a killer pie. You won't regret it. :)

Interesting buildings and a lot on offer for food. The kids will get a little bored. Shops nice to look through.

Called in here on a busy Sunday morning with a friend, we had 6 children between the two of us and found the staff very accommodating, despite being a busy Sunday morning. Food was lovely and fresh, bread is the best around and the coffee excellent. It's a very welcome addition to Piper Street. It's great that a town like Kyneton can have some where of such good quality. Well worth a drive from Melbourne.

Museum is excellent. We spent half a day there. Very knowledgeable staff. Large knitting / quilting shop. Good food and old atmosphere at the George Hotel

Poor service 15 min wait for a pie & salad& a salad on its own.price $16 for pie & salad a bit pricy

Loved dining at Mrs Smith, great food, fantastic fire, food excellent, not over priced, enjoyed the amience.
