mount macadeon winery

The Mt Gisborne winerery is a little Gem. We live in the area and have been there a number of times. It is very cosy in front of the open fire, and the food is excellent. We love the garlic prawns. The wines are easy to drink and the atmosphere is always welcolming. In summer and sprintime eating outside overlooking the vines is very relaxing. There are special events throughout the year and we particulary like the Melbourne cup event where we get decked up to the nines with hats and just have a great day at the winery eating, drinking and watching the race with friends. A very special place to visit and taste the local produce. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Four of us recently visited the Mt Macedon winery, about 60km out of Melbourne in the beutiful Macedon ranges. Many wineries in this area, and the gardens on the Mountain are stunning. A little hard to get to but worth the patience. The wines were lovely and the antepasta platter for four was huge,. we could not eat it all. The free tasting of their wines were generous portions. The wines were not exceptional, however, were very easy to drink.. Excellent views across the valley. Lovely in all seasons as they have a log combusion heater for the colder months. This part of the mount can sometimes snow in winter so just check before going if snowing in the area and the roads are open. Highly recommened if in the Macedon ranges area of Melboure
