Made to feel very welcome as soon as we went in. The shop with chutneys, jams, wine accessories , art, etc was good with some unusual gifts. We were served wine by a very friendly lady who explained the wines really well and allowed us to taste the wines at our own pace. It was her first day working there which we would never have guessed as she was very confident, friendly and knowledgeable. Delicious wines... Bought 5 bottles! Would definitely recommend visiting!
Restaurant was totally packed so we spend a lovely afternoon on the grass reclined in the bean bags provided and served with wine and platters of food. Decadence!
We had such a lovely afternoon at Red Hill Estate. The staff were so accommodating and helpful. My friends and I enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot noir on a picnic rug with fabulous views overlooking their vineyard and Phillip Island. It was a perfect end to the day. The wineries around this area get very busy around this time of year so it was so lovely to finally relax and take in the view and wine without other groups breathing down your neck. The staff even provided hats, sunscreen and an umbrella! We couldn't have asked for more!
Beautiful winery with views of Phillip Island. Excellent cellar door with a wide variety of excellent wines and foods. Always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.
Thanks Kim for a great tasting at Red Hill Estate. The service was really insightful, friendly, fun and the fact your sipped along with us really made a difference to me. Not particularly a tasting aficionado, I never felt rushed or uncomfortable, and rolled away with couple of great drops, too. Lovely tasting, good wines, fun stories, and worth your time if you're in the area.
Fantastic view from the restaurant, great food and wine, lots of car parking capacity, and a really nice experience
The Pino Noir was right up my alley - beautiful scent of roasted marshmallows! Cellar door was dark and cosy.
Returned to Red Hill after visiting a year before. The view is spectacular and the grounds a pleasant stroll. I enjoyed the cellar door wine tasting, learning about the winery region and its grapes, soils and climate. This time I took a friend visiting from Japan - it was a good day
We attended over Easter and there were a number of other people tasting at the cellar door. We were served by one of the winery staff involved in the production process and he knew what he was talking about. It is great when that happens rather than being served by an employee who has no personality and only knows the script provided. The wines were fantastic, the prices were very good and there were bonuses of 14 for the price of 12 and cheap delivery to the west. It was a great experience and certainly the best we encountered over the Easter break from several we attended. Would absolutely recommend to others.
We arrived early on a Sunday morning for a wine-tasting with my in-laws who were visiting from the UK. Despite the fact that there are a number of vineyards in the area, we came back here as my wife and I had been before and had an excellent experience. However, we will not be going back there again. The staff member (no name tag) we got for the tasting was sullen, unpleasant and downright rude. When she could be bothered speaking to us (when she wasn't eating her breakfast), she insolently answered the questions that my in-laws asked about the wine and the vineyard and completely ruined the experience for them. We were told nothing about the wines we were tasting and, as a result, they didn't purchase the wine they were going to and we left to go somewhere we would be treated better. It's a real shame as the location is great but this staff member spoiled it. Very very poor.
Max's Restaurant was everything that I expected. The awards it has won are more than justified. It definitely deserves a few 'Hat's'. Both my friend and I had 2 entree's each and we left nothing on the plates The cellar door (apparently different owners) was also up to standard with NO tasting charge and should be noted by all others. A pleasant surprise. Will definitely go again when time permits. B.
The views at Red Hill Estate are absolutely beautiful. We tried some of the wines and the lady looking after us was very helpful and gave us an explanation about the wines we tried. we had a most enjoyable afternoon
It was a good quality meal, smallish nouveau cuisine type portions, but very expensive and only the one option of 3 courses for $80 per head. If we had known before we sat down we wouldn't likely have done so. Great bottle of wine, the Merrick Chardi
How helpful can on person be. Didn't catch his name but he was knowledgeable across the whole region and absolutely a gentlemen. These guys make a 2011 Pinot noir that rivals the best I've had.
