As we walk towards the tasting room a friendly "GDay OW YA GOIN" greets us from behind the bar , after all it is AUSTRALIA DAY .You feel at ease straight away , we are given a taste of Sweet , Medium ,Dry and Sparkling Cider and a brief run down on how the cider is made and about the owners . The young couple working there were informative and friendly . The food is great , locally sourced meat is BBQed to perfection , washed down with a thirst quenching cider .This is a great place to spend a couple of hours.Tony and Helen Athanitis
we had a great time tasting the ciders, not our thing but worth trying just in case we changed our minds. Very friendly staff. We did have their wood fired pizzas for lunch, Very yummy, worth going just for the pizzas. Beautiful grounds & dog friendly.
Yes it is a lovely building with the right ambience of apple trees, indoor/outdoor sipping or eating, the neighing of horses and the birds of the Aussie bush. But the magic is in the Cider. Whether still or sparkling, this has the taste of tradition, apples loved, processes careful, bottling complimentary. It's a place to be with friends and to dream.Loved it.
We wanted to try a locale product and were delighted with this place. Cheerful, friendly staff who let you try their four cider's with enough to actually get the taste and discern the difference. We bought a mixed dozen of the medium still and carbonated. A great location - well worth visiting.
Beautiful grounds and yummy cider. The tasting was ample. A bit off the track but worth a visit. Loved the dogs around the place too!
Saw a small add for this on a flyer so headed out to have a look. Only 5mins out of daylesford and easy to get to. Glad we made the trip, very quite due to poor weather, however the owner made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. Have us lots of info of the cider and property as well as tastings. Very nice cider.. Bought some (well priced) to enjoy back at our accommodation. Also do mulled cider for these cold days..
The Daylesford Cider Company is brilliant. Everyone is friendly and welcoming including the resident St Bernard Dvia. Defiantly worth a visit to taste and buy some of the fantastic traditional ciders next time you're near Daylesford.
We went to the Daylesford Cidery for a tasting and to check out their pizza oven. What a treat to sit in the autumn sunshine with a glass or two of cider and wine and enjoy their freshly made pizzas. Our hosts were very informative on their ciders and the pizzas - we had half of one sort and half of another that came straight from the oven to our table. We plan to take the grand children next time as The Tavern courtyard is surrounded by lawn and gardens where they can play.
Such a beautiful setting, tasty traditional ciders, warm, welcome environment. The owners were very informative and their gorgeous St Bernard welcomes all visitors in a very passive way... ie; happy to lie there and be patted. Will definately come back next time I'm in the area.
We were cruising around on a leisurely Cup Day drive in the country. Followed the signs and were so pleasantly surprised at this lovely inn. The cider is very good, boutique prices, but well worth taking home some. We sat in the sun with the resident St Bernard, Diva and had a couple of cold ciders in the sun. Friendly owners, stunning gardens and peaceful setting. Do yourself a favour and stop by.
