Enjoyed seeing items worn and owned by some of my child hood heroes, Bradman, Chappell, Liillee, Marsh. Good variety catering to all sports. Fun and interactive games anyone could compete on
My cricket and sports loving partner from NZ like me, absolutely loved this place and would have stayed for days. Well worth a visit. I would go back.
Make this part of your trip to MElbourne, particularly if you're into Cricket or Football history. This place is filled with that history. Do spend a couple of hours. It's a bit tricky to find, but well worth it.
A lot bigger than you think. With all the sports available and the hands on activities that are available, you could easily spend 2 hours in there. If you are not interested or have no knowledge about a particular sport, they can be easily avoided.
Really enjoyed the sports museum, very interesting history and displays. The interactive zone was especially a highlight for me.
This has got to be the best sports museum ever!!!! Such a great diverse amount of sporting information, pictures, trophies and knick knacks let alone the hands on stuff.
This is a fascinating museum dedicated to the history of Australian sports. The visit became an epic experience due to the fascinating storytelling of a museum curator who first attended a match at the MCG in 1938 when Australia fought back to win the Test Match on a sticky wicket and start the comeback to win the Ashes 3-2 after being 2 down going into the 3rd test!
The Greatest Sporting Stadium on this Planet. The "atmosphere " generatet at football and cricket matches is stupendous and without equal in me world wide experience.
This is a great museum based at the MCG and if you are interested in sport you should not miss it when visiting Melbourne. We are a somewhat sport mad mob in this city!
Took my Father and Uncle, who was down from Sydney, here around Fathers Day for an afternoon. Both of them loved it, in fact my Uncle raves about it almost every time I see him.Highlight was possibly the tour of the MCG and MCC stand, including the Long Room which was thoroughly enjoyed.
Great displays covering a range of different sports with memorabilia, photos, interactive videos etc.
There is a new game at the MCG and National Sports Museum , they have a virtual reality game where you put on some special viewing glasses and you are in the wicket and facing Shane Warne , he bowls to you at first very slowly and bat in hand you must try to hit his delivery , he then bowls at a quicker pace and once again you must try to hit the ball with your bat . It is great fun for young and old .The Museum is well worth going in to they have some magnificent exhibits in there . Also do the tour of the stadium it is well worth the entrance fee.
We were recommended to go here by other Trip Advisors and they were so correct. A must do when also visiting the MCG. We met some real characters here who just loved to talk about the exhibits. The displays, especially the 3D ones, were so good. Don't miss it!
If you're a sports nut, then this is the place to visit when in Melbourne. The family and I could have easily spent more time here but time was against us.
