This is a great little zoo in an unexpected place. A great place to take the kids. A great variety of animals in great natural settings. It is easy to get around with the kids because it is not monstrously huge. Makes a great day trip.

This zoo is delightful. The selection if animals is excellent. There are zoo workers posted all over and will answer your questions - in Spanish,of course. All the animals are healthy and well cared for. There are beautiful trees and flowers. I learned a lot about where each animal came from. I was with children and adults and we all loved it!

Pereira is severely lacking in attractions, so their zoo is a great possibility for entertainment there. It's well kept and organized. I consider it not only a zoo but also an unofficial botanical garden. At nearly every exhibit there are docents just jumping at the chance to explain everything you might want to know about the animals. An interesting tidbit: 2 of Pablo Escobar's hippos are here. You could spend an hour or slowly work your way around in 3, enjoy some snacks, take some pictures, etc.

The zoo offers a large variety of animals from round the world.The quality of the zoo is average, the enjoyment of attractions and overall joy was poor.But if you are in Pereira and bored one day give it a go.

A good zoo. I visited during a weekday morning and I had the place to myself. I could walk around without being rushed. The zoo is located across the street from the Pereira Airport (PEI).Un zoológico bueno. Yo visité entre semana por la mañana y podía caminar sin afán porque el lugar estaba vacío. the zoo is located in a very nice tropical garden and even if there is not a very much animals it is very nice to have a walk around and look at the typical animals of the region

This is a nice place to visit. I spent a Monday morning there and since there were no visitors I had the pleasure of interacting more with the animals. The variety of species in the zoo is good and the animals seem to be well taken care of. There are several kiosks that sell food and beverages throughout the zoo. One thing that may be somewhat bizarre is that the zoo is located right next to the city's international airport...

Fun place to visit. It takes about 1.5 hour to walk through the entire zoo. Price: €6,40 euro. The zoo (Zoológico Matecaña de Pereira) is located next to the airport. A taxi ride from 'Plaza de Bolívar' to the zoo costs about €4.

Located near the airport , easy access, prices are cheap ( $31.00 2 adults , 2 children ) Friendly staff you can request a guide just for your group . We love it.

it was a nice place, the animals are well educated and the staff know theyir job. they all try to help you no matter if you speak the local language or not.

This zoo is located in Pereira near the airport. It's inexpensive and it's a fun place to go if you want to relax. The animal enclosures are somewhat rustic. I got to pet a zebra that was standing by the fence and a buffalo grazing near the fence. I could never do that at a zoo in the US. It was a fun experience! There's a decent amount of animals: lions, birds, gators, monkeys, etc.

Greatest diversity in fauna, fun to visit, great guided tours, lots of animals, good place for kids and adults, it is always a pleasure to visit.

It's a good place to visit full of exotic southamerican animals, they also have lots of animals throwout the world. The people is very friendly and help you to enjoy your visit with really interesting stories. The zoo is just in front of the airport, you won't get lost! Enjoy it!

este zoo es muy entretenido, queda bastante cerca al aeropuerto y es muy interesante sus estaciones de cada especie de animales expuestos en ese lugar

Es un lugar perfecto para la familia, cuando vas con niños pues es un zoologico muy completo y ademas mucho tiempo para caminar....
