constitution square

Nothing really special here. It is in the city center and there are some really nice surrounding buildings and a small nearby park. But other than that this square isn't really anything special.

The square itself has nothing interesting, but it is really close to many local attractions. There are cathedrals right behind. The historical museum is also close. There are also a few small things to see, such as a huge thermometer and sculpture of a musician on the top of a building right across the street.

This is a good starting point for visiting the city; there is a few cathedrals, the metro and the Historical museum. The thermometer is also an easy rendez-vous point.

a tourist must for visitors to the city. i was there in november, a little chilly but sunny. a great place for photos and examining the architecture.

Kharkiv as for me, is one of the best old cities in Ukraine. I like it so much. Highly recommended.

The constitution square is situated in the beginning of Sumskaya street (metro stations: Istorichniy musey and Radyanska) the main photo is incorrect it's not on constitution square. the main buildings on the square are Puppet theater and Transport technical secondary school and the Palace pf the work. On the top of the house opposite the shop "Children's world" there is a violinist. Now (may 2012) the are reconstructions on the square.

Depending on the time of year, it maybe entirely void of anything other than corrupt traffic police (GAI) or may be overrun by drunks on Beer Day.Christmas/New Years is a good time, as well as Easter.Some good nearby eateries if you can wedge yourself into an available spot. Too crowded with chinese & arabic university students from Karazin Univ which is on the backside of the square.

Big square, with some shops around. It's in the very centre so you will probably struggle to avoid it ;))

Constitution square is located at metro stop History Museum (Historichny Musee) on the junction of Symsckaya and Gamarynika streets. It is the gathering place of most friendly protests of students, which is always entertaining and has some artillary and tank pieces of interest. There is actually a british WW1 tank placed here. Of course there is the History Museum in the centre but, the points of interest from here are many. To the rear is the Orthodox temple complex which is very interesting. Women should wear head scarves and you can borrow them from the friendly security. It is a holy place and should be treated with due respect. Further on from the complex is a lovely little park which is full of artists and their craft, which follows on down to the river.There are many good restuarants off the square on the side street of Kveetkee-Ocnovanenko which is parralel to Gamaranyka, most notable Mafia and my faviourite Sharikoff as well as further temples on this side street.Behind the central museum is the Irish Bar which is 24/7 with great staff and sport on the various televisions at all times.If one is to venture north along Symskaya street there is an abundance of clothes shopping.I think though that the most interesting factor for the tourist is the metro stop itself , which is vast, clean and can be frenetically busy at peak hour. From here though you can catch a metro train in all directions.

По мне-это сердце нашего города. Летом здесь запускают воздушные шары, зимой устраивают катанье на коньках и елки. Осенью Сад Шевченко украшает площадь золотом листьев.

Очнь аккуратно в последние годы была реконструирована, когда совдеповское убожище "пятеро с ломбарда несут холодильник" заменили на красивый памятник (можно сказать) Европе. Реконструкция Ист.музея также интересная. Архитектура интересная. Да и "Скрипач на крыше" также с площади виден.

Вечером площадь замечательно подсвечивается, от обилия огней сразу приходит ощущение праздника. Под новый год - вообще сказка, тем более, что не так далеко идти до центральной городской ёлки. Прекрасные здания, сквер, кафе. Площадь мне очень нравится!

Красивая большая площадь, центр города. Величественные здания, музей, храмы неподалёку, памятники... Площадь очень славная. Ну, и обожаемая мною "Пузата хата" в начале Сумской улицы )))

Площадь находится в центре города, ст. метро Исторический музей. На площади есть соответственно исторический музей, несколько памятников и один из символов Харькова - громный градусник, показывающий температуру. Под градусником часто назначают встречи, заметный ориентир. Кроме этого есть несколько кафешек, столовая самообслуживания Пузата Хата

Площадь находится перед историческим музеем и Покровским собором. Недавно полностью реконструирована, приобретя свежий, современный вид. Обязательна к посещению гостям города
