This is not an ordinary museum. I would rather say this museum is one of it’s kind in Bulgaria.Interesting, modern, entеrtaining, funny.I was so gladly surprised to discover this place and this is the main reason to post my review – to make more people aware that this place is worth seeing. Big interactive screens will take you back in time to tell you interesting facts from the amazing history of Gabrovo from the period of Revival up to nowadays – formation of the craft industry and transformation of the town into one of the largest Bulgarian industrial centers. Don’t forget that Gabrovo is the Balkan capital of humor. On the third floor of the museum visitors may find out why the citizens of Gabrovo are famous for being thrifty and have fun participating in a video version of the famous Gabrovo anecdotes. And finally when you think there is nothing more to see comes the pleasant finale - a short 3D movie which takes you on trip showing you the town and local surroundings from a bird's eye view. Beautiful!
I've like everything. Very interesting, unusual and modern museum. Congratulations to the municipality! This idea and its realisation are great!
We were amazed at how well-organised and professionally presented this museum was. That's not a slight on Gabrovo, a place we enjoyed immensely, but one might have expected to find something of this quality in Sofia. With three themed floors (pre-socialist, socialist, and modern) and your own tour guide (we had one anyway, the wonderful Pepa) there is much of interest - even for fairly young children - despite the relatively limited space. A highlight was the tour finale: a trip to the basement to recline in comfy chairs, slip on some 3D glasses, and watch a helicopter tour of Gabrovo and the surrounding region. Throw in the modest pricing and the warm welcome, and it's a very decent way to spend an hour or more.
