Premuzic Trail is not in Rijeka. It is on the mountain Velebit, starting in the National Park Sjeverni ( meaning north) Velebit. Rijeka is a town on the Adriatic coast and this trail is in the wilderness, starts from near Zavizan. Mr. Premuzic was the inginer who constructed this beautiful trail, 57 km long. There is no cement or concrete used, it was all done by local people using the traditional methods of wall building in only 4 years (1930 -1933). On average it takes 3 days to do the whole trail, but be careful when and how you do it, as the conditions on Velebit can be quite severe. This is not for sissies as you'll be in the middle of nowhere. You have to check in advance what mountain hats are open and when. You will have to bring your own food for some of the way, depending on mountain hats openings. Have fun and always respect nature ! Velebit is beautiful. The fee you pay is the National park entrance fee.
