Our guidebook recommended this museum and we were glad that we found our way there along the streets from the Michaelkirche. It is very interesting about Steyr's history and there is. A wonderful old reconstructed Stube. We only had an hour there as we got there late and would have liked longer. Unfortunately most of the captions are in German only. We didn't ask if there is an audio guide.

It is basically an empty building with a few posters inside does not really have any point to be open

Fascinating little museum that sums up the history of Steyr succinctly. Wonderful spot for a walk where you can watch the trout in the river! Do walk over the bridge and see this side of town. Reasonable price and staff speak excellent English if you need it.

You would assume that something that calls itself "Museum Arbeitswelt" in a town with such a longstanding industrial history as Steyr would be worthwile a visit; however you would be much mistaken. Steep entrance fee and not much too see of the industrial history. E.g. from the Steyr Werke there is just a room full with pictures and a tiny model of a prototype of a car that was never built. The rest of the museum is a hotchpotch of pseudo scientific pictures and graphs (some even lacking proper legends) and yes, they have interactive displays; shame just that some of the computers had crashed when we visited. If you are interested in local industrial history go to the Messerermuseum in Steinbach, where you get a good insight for a fraction of that entrance fee.

Muss man hin, ist über die Steyrer Geschichte wirklich interessant. Industrie & Geschichte der ehemaligen Arbeiterstadt in einem top sanierten Fabriksgebäude.

Besonder in der Region und über das Leben der Menschen in vergangener Zeit. Gut für unsere Jugend, die sich solche Lebensumstände gar nicht mehr vorsteen kann

eine kleine Reise durch die Arbeitwelt mit vielen Einblicken, zB in Scheinselbständigkeit und Arbeitsnomadentum - auch die Schauobjekte (Dampfhammer, Beisl aus den 30igerJahren) sind sehenswert

Das Museum Arbeitswelt ist ein Museum zum Thema "Arbeit". Es liegt zentral in Steyr - ist etwa über einen Steg entlang des Flusses erreichbar. Parkplätze beim Hotel gibt es auch, der Platz ist jedoch begrenzt.Soweit mir bekannt ist das Museum auch für Veranstaltungen buchbar - etwa Firmenfeiern. Die Museumsstücke sind interaktiv, es gibt (leider) viel Text zu lesen, aber es ist sehr interessant. Wenn man in Steyr ist, kann man da gerne einmal hinschauen
