Beautifull renovated this fascinating place is still the home of the "Augustiner Chorherren " . They are dedicating their life to foster the roman catholic church , run an agricultural property and are looking back on a very long and prestigious cultural history. If you are interested in religious and / or cultural history you have to take a guided tour and invest at least 2 and 1/2 hours . It is well invested .

Das Stift zählt zu den schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten Österreichs. Beheimatet sind hier die Augustiner Chorherren. Das Stift ist zum großen Teil restauriert und laufend verschönert. Die Farben der Dächer und Mauern sind wie früher. Die Innenausstattung ist fabelhaft, eine große Bücherei ist vorhanden und vom Augustinersaal hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den von den alten Plänen völlig neu gestalteten Garten. Die Kirche selbst ist in der Barockzeit entstanden Der Leitung des Stiftes unterstehen ca. 50 Pfarreien, unter anderem auch die herrliche Kirche Dürnstein in der Wachau.

Certo che il complesso conventuale è stato mantenuto in ottime condizioni. Pur non essendo un amante del barocco debbo dire che quando è bene mantenuto riporta ad atmosfere comunque godibili. Finalmente una cosa vera.
