Very nice place, family can easily spend a wonderful day there. Nature, animals, great playground are making this trip enjoyable for kids and parents.Take some refreshments with you...
There are good signs leading to the park, but we could not find entry point so never found out what it was about. Wondered if it was a nudist park?
Naturpark Sparbach is a wonderful family day trip just south of Vienna. At less than half an hour's drive, Sparbach is really easy to find. There is abundant parking though that parking does appear to be largely on grass so some caution in weather conditions might be considered. The price is remarkably low at just €4 for an adult though some care is needed to make sure the person at the entrance is paying enough attention to actually take the entrance fee.Naturpark Sparbach is controlled wilderness and is ideal for families. It is part of the Wienerwald and is quite heavily forested. The trees provide really good shade throughout most of the area so even on the sunniest of days it is a pleasant environment. As this wilderness is controlled, the lower branches of the trees are cropped meaning that the more unpleasant of bugs do not have easy access to the passers-by on the ground.Perhaps best of all for kids is the existence of semi-wild animals, especially pigs and goats who can roam freely. Finding a variety of animals just off the path is great and watching them vacuum up remnants of picnics is food fun.The petting zoo is pretty decent with a range of animals in good sized enclosures. Goats, sheep, ponies, and rabbits are all well accomodated which makes the experience a bit more pleasing. The lake and water mill are nice to look at. The large number of fish in the lake is a real surprise. The children's play area is ok. It isn't great and the heralded Wasserspielplatz is no such thing. This is not a water play area but does have a couple of swings and slides etc as well as some sand to play in. Some people clearly take the opportunity to have pre-booked barbecues but for more routine needs there are lots of picnic tables dotted around.Surprisingly, Naturpark Sparbach does not end there. The gallerie of wild animals is not especially exciting but it does offer a close-up view of plenty of deer. However, it is the wander that really turns this from good to great. The wander way does go up something of a hill so there is a physical element to the activity. However, some of the routes are very gentle and there are some nice stopping off points like some resting benches under a very large tree. Near the top, the rocky path does make it perhaps a little too difficult for most buggies or wheelchairs. The attractions up the hill include a couple of follies which are nice but aside from the walk itself, the best attraction is a small shrine to Diana the Huntress. Standing at the back edge of a lovely meadow, the shrine is really much more impressive than the follies. At the other side of the meadow stands an old pine tree but it is hard to see what is quite so incredible about it.At the top of the hill the view isn't spectacular. However, the lovely wooded walk to the top is really nice. Naturpark Sparbach is a really great place and a wonderful family day out.
Super schöner Spielplatz für Kinder. Für kleinere Wanderungen/Sparziergänge geeignet. Vielleicht trifft man noch ein Wildschwein :).
