The owners of this rental company do not speak a word of English so you do not know what you are getting yourselves into! The rental of the motorbike was reasonable (15 euros a day) and we received a plastic envelop full of papers (in Greek) to carry around which we assumed were insurance papers. Unfortunately we did fall over on the bike as many of the roads are in poor condition (I highly recommend renting a car if you really want to explore) and there were a couple of small scratches on the side. When we returned the bike, it was examined, and the lady pointed out small scratches in three places. They were superficial and we didn't see any problem as that is what insurance is for and of course wear and tear needs to be considered in this sort ob business. She then wrote out a list of parts that she wanted to replace and told us we would need to pay her 120 euros. When we said 'that is what insurance is for' she didn't understand us and took us over to the computer where we argued for almost an hour over Google Translate. She wanted to replace the sections of the bike that got scratched with completely new pieces!!! We told her that we wouldn't pay that amount and we were upset that she didn't let us know beforehand that we did not have full insurance. I told her that she should inform tourists of this fact and her excuse was that she didn't speak English and that no bike rental place on the island provides full insurance (I found out later that this is not true). We were about to just leave but she then said she was phoning the police and this freaked my husband out a bit since they had all our details. Her husband showed up a bit later (who also didn't speak English) and he joined the argument. I told them that I would review their company on the internet if that made us pay such a ridiculous amount and they informed me that I was trying to blackmail them and it was extortion! I told them that travelers simply needed to know the truth when they rent the bike; complete insurance is not offered, English is not spoken, and an inspection of the bike together with the client is not done before taking it. Eventually they said it would be okay if we gave them 60 euros just to cover basics. I got them down to 40 in the end as it was the last day of our trip and we didn't have much left! I still feel like we shouldn't have given them anything and maybe nothing would have happened if we just walked out and left. We spoke to the owner of our pension when we got back and she told me that it is always better to rent bike through hotel owners as they know the most reliable places and can help in any kind of problem. She also told me that she had heard of this particular company doing this before to other tourists. She also said that the company she uses does provide full insurance. We really enjoyed our trip to Limos, but this happening on our last night left a really sour taste in our mouth. :-(
