The only downside to this place is the ammount of steps you have to go donw cos its just the same to get back up but once you're there you wont be dissappointed. Great atmosphere and astonishing views
On the side of the road past the Akritiri Beach Hotel and many steps down to the bar but well worth the effort. A unique setting in the side of a cliff overlooking a rocky beach ,if your lucky some crazy soul will be diving off the side of the cliff into the water. You can also hire motor boats from the beach.
horrible music too loud and not appropriate to the time of day! not worth the 140 steps down - and up! goon only for posing teens !
It's an experience going down the stairs to this beautiful bar but worth the visit for the view. It is very busy and we ordered beer and a tuna sandwich , the sandwich was dry with very little filling and overpriced but then again the view is spectacular which made it worth the climb. The water is very inviting and would loved to have been brave enough to jump in but there is no way I would have been able to climb out again but it was fun watching people diving in from the cliff side. Its not for people who have problems walking i found it difficult the stairs are uneven and the railing to hold on was not secure we only visited once as my nerves couldnt handle the stairs again.
Very trendy place during the day and evening. Nice atmosphere, music and drinks. Although better to look elsewhere for something to eat.
This is a wonderful bar set in a beautiful location. It's quite a hike and not for the infirm but well worth the trek. It is very busy during the day but has a great atmosphere. In the evening it is very quiet but very relaxing. The prices were slightly more than we paid elsewhere, but worth the extra expense.
its quite a walk down the steps but well worth it, we went at night and the clear blue water is lit up, if your in paleo its a must
This grotto is fantastic and well worth a visit. Decking and seating arranged over several levels with a variety of access points to the water. There are no shallow entry points as the water is about 1o ft deep almost directly from the rocks. Bar is a trendy type bar playing 'chill out' club 'jazz'. There is no obligation to use the bar if visiting, however, be warned, it is overpriced! €3.50 for a small (250ml) no-brand lager type beer!! Visit at night as the underwater lighting is lovely. Loses the sun after about 2pm
The view to the bay is magnificent - turquise blue water, sun, sand and happy people swimming. But you have to use more than a 100 stairs to get to the beach (and then - a 100 stairs to come back everytime). Beach is rocky-sharp (shoes definitely needed), noisy - a lot of motorboats and usually crowded. There's a bar on the beach, a bit expensive. Bright side - there's a small swing and a wooden house for kids. Take a few pictures from above, but find a better beach to swim.
Would completely recommend visiting this stunning bar in the heart of the beach areas of Paleokastrista coast. The bar by day is a gorgeous to hang out to chill out with good sounds, cool beers and ice cream. The swimming is stunning and there are rocks to dive in the green water from. Visited here 3 times during Aug/Sept. The staff are really friendly and the whole place has a very welcoming and relaxed vibe. Go and see for yourself!!!
The beach was quite nice but the water was extremely cold. The moment you stepped in it you felt like someone is sticking needles in every inch of your body. But it was worth going just because of the view.
The location is will blow your mind from the beauty of the place, 162 steps totally worth it. Don't forget to bring with you the swimming suit even in the evening because the first thing you'll want to do is jump in the clear water!magic place!
Much prefer the relative tranquility of the bar at night - although the ambiance of the day-time experience, people-watching the beautiful Italians, the music and the amazing, unique location are a must for any visitor to Paleokastritsa. I would have afforded the venue five stars but visitors should be encouraged to leave the place as they find it - and learn to/be encouraged to pick up litter - cigarette butts do nothing to enhance the experience!
This was a very interesting plan to visit with our two teenage children. The steps are no problem unless you are infirm. We then sat and watched the many people jumping and diving into the sea with the music blaring out. Mostly aimed at the young and trendy, we didn't feel awkward though and the kids recognised the songs even if we didn't. We all went for a swim and snorkel and the youngest did find the water too cold and got out fairly quickly, but I didn't think it was too bad. Give it a go, even if you are neither young nor trendy!
Great view. great music, great cocktails! Must do while in Paleokastritsa. Take your swimsuit with you. :)
