As this museum advertises itself at the Jewish museum of Westfalia I had expected a much larger exhibition than that offered. The day we visited there was an exhibition in only one large room, I thought there would be more. Consequently I was quite disappointed especially as we had gone to Dorsten to visit this museum. Maybe they are in the process of setting up more exhibits. From the booklet I picked up it seems that this is more a cultural centre for the area than a museum. I bought a poster which showed the fate of the Jewish people in Dorsten in the 1930s and during the war. This poster was more informative about local Jewish people than the museum exhibits (many of which were English). Having been to the excellent Jewish museum in Camden I expected something along the same lines which was why I was disappointed to find so little on display. The man at the desk spoke English and was able to answer one or two questions. There was no entry fee but a box if one wished to contribute, which we did.On the pavements in Dorsten one can find stolpersteins, to me this is a sign that a community cares.
