Quite peacefull and authentic. Historical place from Ulm it's in some way similar to the "petite france" in Strasbourg.
My personal advice is to visit the Fishermen's Quarter having a walk there after the sunset. Darkness, artificial lights and the sound of the water in the quiet of a German evening help making it a magical place. I wish I had dinner there!
Houses built in the middle of streams (or so it seems) makes this a fascinating area to visit.Including a very old hotel which has beds with different length legs to cope with the uneven floors!
Take a little time to just stroll through the streets on the other side of the river, as well as walking along the old city wall. This part of Ulm is charming and gorgeous, and you'd be missing out if you don't have a look.
Cobblestone alleyways, stunning women everywhere, great places to eat... my title says what I think, not too much more to add!
Enjoy the walk on fishermans quarter. It is situated on the junction of the rivers Blau and Danube. You walk around bridges and squares and the houses there are half-timbered of the 16th century.
This is a quiet and historical part of the city. Extensively damaged by Allied bombing in 1944, it has been carefully and tastefully restored. Various restaurants specialising in fish dishes and a chance to see the Einstein family house.
The whole area is so charming. The Fishermen's quarter is my personal favorite in Ulm. I felt like I'm in one of the Grimm brothers' fairy tales :)I'd give 4/5 but because of the unforgettable memories it's a 5/5 to me.
This is one of my favourite spots in Ulm. Lovely old little streets and streams. Very pretty and relaxing!
We enjoyed walking in this area. The restaurants were nice, and the walk along the Danube was beautiful.
Lots of ambiance and historic structures. I also liked the quarter north of the Minster very much; I liked it as much as the more famous Fischerviertel.
No need to look elsewhere for food and drink either. Go down to the Danube for a walk along the river. Also an intersting series of memorials on the bank just by the exit.
