Be careful if you visit it in November, as the park is half closed for works. The view on the waterfalls and the paths are an hiking paradise, can be reached from the bottom too, but you need to be expert climbers. Be careful, as on the weekends there are too many kids screaming and yelling! It's a must-see in the region.
Even coming from Canada and used to Niagara, we loved the waterfalls and how well the park was kept. Take 4 hours and some energy to visit it, it's a romantic place in the woods around Verona.
The waterfall park is somewhere which can be a couple of hours or a day trip out (especially for little legs), there were three routes you could choose from, we took the middle one and spent about an hour and half there. The walk was very nice, a little difficult in some places (slippy rocks and the terrain, i.e. not good for prams), the waterfalls were beautiful and there was even a swing and zip line, which i enjoyed at 20 years old never mind children! Well kept and staff around the park were friendly. NOTE: very steep hill from parking in the village to the park itself, fun going down but not so clever coming up if you are not so physically fit!
The Parco delle Cascate is pretty easy to reach by road from Verona. HEading on up into the hills, the final few kilometres climb gives you a good impression of the landscape and how these waterfalls were formed. The park was completed in the early seventies and doesn't seems to have changed much since then: An uncomplicated layout gives you three choices of walking route (green, red or black). As others have observed, the most difficult part of your trip may be the path to the park from the town! We arrived after a rainy morning and found the unfinished stone slabs pretty slippery, as were parts of the red route that we took. That said, this is a very peaceful way to spend an afternoon's walk. The falls are all quite pretty, the paths well-signed. There's a bar and picnic area at the entrance, with a few spots to stop on the way round. Bring a small picnic and take advantage. And bring good shoes, too: light hiking boots would be best and sandals / flip-flops just won't cut it.A zip-line and swing-out seat have been fixed at a couple of the falls, though these are pretty lightweight and probably not worth the time and effort. Enjoy watching a couple of kids have a go then move on.The entrance fee isn't too steep and parking was free (the ticket machine was broken - this may be fixed by the time you visit!).Would recommend the Parco dell Cascate for visitors to Verona or Lake Garda and will definitely be heading back.
It's a natural park, with waterfalls. A beautiful place to walk and relax in the nature. You can choose several lenghts of tracks. The view is memorable. The little village behind the park is so beautiful. The houses and the roofs are made of granit stone. Every step is worth the effort.
Be prepared for quite a long and very steep hike down to the start of the trail around the waterfalls but very well worth it. A beautiful setting and cool on what was a very hot day. Stop at the little shop selling local wine, olive oil and preserves all sourced from the area on your way out of the village.
The waterfalls are great. You can take different routes withing the park and can stay there between 30 minutes to half day (like wee did...).Kids will enjoy as well :)
We have spent half day in this enjoyable park. The place is well maintained and the entrance fees are reasonable.suggested for nature lovers. The visitor can choose several lenghts of tracks. Many waterfalls, everything is green and the view is amazing.Near the entrance is a small cafe and I suggest to take with you a bottle of water. Not recommended for dissabled persons. The parking is about 20 min walk up-hill.A nice attraction in the area.
A very nice place to spend 2-3 hours with young children. Beautiful waterfalls and attractions for the kids (see-saw into a big waterfall, Omega, climbing wall and others). The park is clean and offers picnic tables as well as benches along the way. Quite a walk from the parking place which is not so bad when you go into the park but when you return to the car, it is steep and can be difficult for young children. All in all, nice place to visit and spend few hours in nature.
Very nice walk with nice adventures on the way. I would recommend going there in general, but you should note that the parking in the village is prohibited, so you must park 5 mins away outside it. From the village to the park there is a 15 mins walk downhill, so a total of ~20 mins downhill walk from the car to the entrance of the park. This makes ~25-30 uphill walk to the cat on the way back. So you should add this time and effort to your considerations when deciding if and when to come.
We've spent a good 2-3 hours in this park enjoying the partially breathtaking views of various waterfalls/cascades. Just be aware that the walk to the park entrance is about 15 minutes downhill from the village/parking lot.
To escape from the world this is a place to visit for quiet and beautiful smells. Look for the fountains with the large fish and terrapins basking in the sun
We spent the best part of the day going around the park, and enjoying the various natural attractions... beside the well marked walking tracks you can enjoy spectacular views of the waterfalls (cascate), the scenary and the small yet entertaining features such as a small cable car, swings under the waterfalls etc.If you are taking kids, make sure they are of an age that can take some goos walking up slopes... my kids are 10 and 7 and fully enjoyed it.
