This cave is beatyfull. I can recommend all of friends to see this fantastic nature jewellery. It´s nontypical cave - you must go to the hill, and in cave you go down and back - it is fantastic experience.
Simply exquisite! Worth seeing this nature wonder. Amazing! Be prepared to walk quite a lot of stairs .... at least good cardio for yourself. The entrance to the cave is about 15 minutes walk up the hill. No entrance right outside the car door. Be ready for that. Nice walk in The Tatras nature.
Our kids wanted to visit a cave and this was the nearest one. It také us about 30 minutes to get up to the entrance and then ruther a lot of steps inside to walk but it was really worth to see. Nice atmosphere.
The first thing to say about this attraction is that it is not for anyone with the slightest walking difficulty or with any heart problem as the walk up to the cave is quite a task and the tour itself requires a reasonable standard of fitness to clime over 800 steps and several steep gradients. But without doubt well worth a look, it is quite spectacular in parts, although the commentary is not in English you really do not require an explanation of what you see
The cave tour is very interesting and it take about one hour . Take in mind that is very cold inside so dress well.the to the beginning of tour is not easy and i'll need to climb up about 20-25 minutes , but it worth it.
The cave tour was spectacular, but we were exhausted at the end of it. After arriving at the car park (euro 3.50) you have to walk about 20 minutes up a steep hill to arrive at the cave entrance where tickets can be purchased. The tours begin on the hour every hour with the last tour at 4pm. The cave tour itself is quite strenuous, climbing up steep steps inside the cave structure for several hundred metres. It lasts for 70 minutes and it’s very cold inside (6 degrees) so after 70 minutes I was really ready to surface. Our tour was in the Slavic language, but that didn’t really bother us. They gave us a sheet in English which gave information on each of the six stops along the way.The ticket office was closed when we first arrived, but when he finally made an appearance he was quite rude to us, and also to the school teacher who wanted to purchase tickets for his group. There is no food for sale here, only a drink machine selling coffee and tea (.50c)Entry price is 8 euros for adults, and they charge another 10 euros if you wish to take photos or video. We had a very nice and affordable lunch at the restaurant next door, and then we drove over the road to the pension where we stayed the night (38 euros for a comfortable room).
This is a fairly short tour of a cave system (about an hour). It isn't too demanding but cave tours mean a lot of steps so not for the very old. In general the commentary is in Slovak but they will make an effort to add some English if they know there are foreign visitors.Like most caves, it is pretty cool inside (about 7 C I believe) so dress well. The cave is not open all year (just late spring to early Autumn I think) and there are set times with quite an early finish so check the times before you arrive. There is a large sign at the bottom of the footpath which leads up to the cave, make sure you check that the cave is open before you go up, the path takes 10-15 minutes of 'healthy exercise' as you wind your way up.Having got to the top you find that they do not take credit cards so make sure you have enough cash. You have to wait for the next tour as people cannot just wander around in the cave, just as part of a tour group.Make sure you check your watches are correct by looking at the clock at the ticket office ;-)The cave is lit and the paths are fairly good but obviously damp and not level so good footwear is a must. There are bats in there but not many and you will have to look hard to find them.Taller people should be careful as headroom is limited in some places and you can easily bump your head.Overall, it is worth seeing if you are in the area or passing through but I wouldn't travel to see it. There are far more impressive cave systems near Jasna or towards Roznava. There is a good Slovak restaurant next to the car park. As well as being an interesting place (it looks like a museum of an old style cottage), its car park is free so having a coffee there is better than paying for the Cave car park in my opinion. The food is good and inexpensive so we usually eat there too. Arrange your eating time to fit in with the cave tour times - having a long lunch then finding out that the last tour starts at 2 isn't a good idea!
Einzigartiger Klang.
