Nice place to visit and close to bratislava. Even with small children is worthy to visit. I recommend u to plan more time before as u have to walk 20 to 30 minutes to the entrance from the parking.
We went to the cave by bus from Trnava. You need to take a bus to Smolenice, bus stop Razcestie. The road is well signposted and it took us about 20 min to get to Jahodnik. If you are coming by car there is an ample parking in Jahodnik. From there the only way is on your foot. The information board tells it should take you 20 min but it took us about 30-35 mins as it is real uphill and we needed breaks. The walk is demanding but pleasant. When you come to the cave there are very basic toilets available. The entry for an adult was £6 which is an acceptable price. We were surprised by the price of "camera ticket" which allows you to take pictures inside and costs £7 on top of your entry. There is also a bar selling souvenirs, drinks and sweets. The tickets to the cave can be purchased only 20 min before the tour. The tour itself was good and lasted about 30 min. The climate inside Driny was amazingly refreshing on a hot day but take a jumper as the temperature is constant throughout the year at 8°C. The guided tours are in Slovak unless you are coming as a group speaking a different language. I am afraid it doesn't have disabled access. Overall a lovely experience in gorgeous environment.
First of all I was thinking about whether to write this review or not. I have to say that I really liked the cave but rest of services offered there need improvement.Parking.Parking is about 20 minutes form the cave and you can not get any closer by car because it is envirnmentally protected area. When I say 20 minutes, I mean it is 20 minutes of walking uphil. You may expectect to get back (downhil) in 15 minutes. No, there is no wheel-chair access.Services.Do not expect anything. There is nothing. There are toilets but I would use them only in the case of emergency. Do not expect to have a coffee infront of the cave – they do not sell any. You can have only overpriced coffee from vending machine. Do not expect to buy tickets any time, they sell tickets only 15 minutes prior the guided tour.Other hintsIn the cave, you will hear about the first entrance to the cave that you can see from outside but you have to go another 200 meters. This is waste of time and if you are with small kids it is dangerous. You have walk on slippery stones and rocks and there is nothing. Recommendation.Take everyting with you and expect to be in cave around 45 minutes. If you have your kid in your backapack or you are taking backpack for whole family take second T-shirt. You will get sweat and there is on 8 degrees of Celzius in the cave.
Sito:http://www.ssj.sk/jaskyne/spristupnene/driny/
