We stayed close to the main square, so we walked through here several times during our three-day stint in Bratislava. It is beautiful, well-maintained and primarily comprised of pedestrian-only streets - a plus if you like to wander around looking up at buildings and statues - rather than watching for traffic! Keep an eye out for the lovely and unique statutes that are sprinkled around the area. It truly is a gem and quite quaint. I was very pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-cared-for the area was as a whole. There are a ton of fun bars, restaurants, churches and shops to explore. If you are interested in having enough time to really soak it in, give yourself a half a day or at least a few hours in the area.
Interesting old city, full with historical buildings and churches. Excellent for a day trip from Austria. Must visit the castle
This square in the heart of Bratislava has some very well refurbished and nicely painted historical buildings, a warm illumination during the evening and some funny sculptures.
Awesome place surrounded with historical buildings. In winter there is famous Christmas market, obviously crowded by people. But this place offers atmosphere and historical feeling all year around.
I was there during the winter, snow, christmas lights on the trees, the curtain of buildings around the square are simply amazing
The main square in Old Town is lined with beautiful historic buildings containing shops, restaurants, and museums, and centred around a lovely fountain. Beautiful place- and somewhat unavoidable if you're in Old Town.
This square is another nice place to slowly walk around and pay attention to details you can find there. Also a very touristic place. You can find there some tours (like a small carriage train), some good restaurants, shops, etc. The kind of place you will recognize as being Bratislava when you see pictures from there.
Little but soooo pretty. It was really fantastic as we stayed next to it and all day long we were there. During Christmas the atmosphere with all these little houses is unique
A lot of slovak food specialities, good wine and a lot of happy peopleI like it and come here every year
Historical Bratislava has got tree small medieval squares. The central of them is Hlavné námestie (Main Square) with Town Hall. It is main place for cultural events in Bratislava.
one of the top attraction of the city. funny statue that attracts the visitor. situated in a nice big square. Christmas market in December is around this place. main square in Bratislava city with a lot of shops, cafes, bars and some other sculptures around. great opportunity to have photos to make the Bratislava journey memorable.
Very busy, especially in the time of Christmas market with lots of statues that became the symbol of the city among tourists.
Everyone was taking crazy pictures next to this statue. It was fun looking for it and finding it. I think other than that it is not so spectacular.
It is a nice big square and many bakery and pubs. it reminds of all other eastern europe main squares
The traditional centre of the old town. As important as Staryj Arbat to Moscow, Andreivskyj Spusk to Kyiv, or Graben to Vienna. The place, which stages a serie of summer concerts, or the christmas market in December. It is also the central point of the new years eve celebration. The renovated Roland Cafe & Restaurant underlines the charm of Slovak capitals main square
