Actually this bridge is made of glass and iron and connects two sides of old town. I had mixed feelings about this bridge, but now I know for sure, it is really really nice. Especially at night.
It is one of those wonders in Tbilisi that were built recently, but have become popular and on hte list of hte most photographed places in Georgia
I was thoroughly impressed by this bridge! Gorgeous piece of architecture and a great compliment to the river. At night it lights up, but I prefer it during the day, as you can see the city well from the walkway.
This is a bridge of peace in Tbilisi. The Bridge of Peace was designed by the Italian architect Michele De Lucchi and the official opening took place on May 6, 2010. The Bridge itself was built in Italy and transported to Tbilisi by 200 trucks. After the parliamentary elections of 1st October 2012, discussions started whether this modern bridge should stand here in the middle of the old city. This discussions continues up to now, so its worth to take photos of this beautiful bridge until it still stands...
Really a unique structure! Plenty of opportunities for really cool photos. It is especially beautiful at night
I was on the Bridge of Peace on the first day it opened to the public. What a beautiful pedestrian bridge in Tbilisi.
Very futuristic bridge that get you to a small park and the Aerial tramway over the old town. You also have a casino on one side of the bridge.
This place is very interesting to go! It is hard to find a parking place if you're in right side of the river, but it is fun to visit it, especially in the evening time when the lights are on!
If you are going from one side to the other, at night with the lights nicely changing, you will be on a fun pleasant bridge. How many fun bridges have you ever been on?
Found this bridge almost by accident. Walked round a corner and there it was all lit up and quite magnificent. A great bridge to walk over day or night. Not to be missed.
Georgia is going on with the style of putting new and very modern architecture amongst its pictureque old towns and traditional houses. I'm still undecided what to think about it. The bridge is nice, but to me it just sticks out too much and doesn't blend very well with the rest of Tbilisi, along with those two dreadful cylinders, not sure what they are. The walk along the bridge is interesting though.
Unique and interesting design. I love taking photos of it from a distance and from up close. I was there on a sunny day, and the reflection of the bridge on the river was so pretty, like a painting.
The bridge connects the old town with the new city. The lighting is live from 90 minutes before sunset and until 90 minutes after sunrise. It features four different lighting programs that run on the canopy every hour. There is a park on the other side of the river (from old Tbilisi). Pretty relaxing to just take a stroll from the bridge across and back.
I read somewhere that the bridge unites the old and the modern Tbilisi, but we discovered that only the bridge itself is the modern here. It looks really nice in the night, though :)
Tbilisi is a very old and beautiful town. This bridge is just like a building came from another universe :) Too modern for the city’s general atmosphere.
