Spent the better part of the day on the island and took a few hours to roam through the Jardin Georges Delaselle while there. It was off-season so there were no crowds and sometimes it felt as if we had the place to ourselves. It is a short relatively inexpensive ferry ride over from Roscoff and well worth it to take a visit if you are in the area.

The ferry boat is accessed by a very long pier because of the tides. The scenery is splendid as we approached the island. We walked all the way round visiting lovely little bays, exploring characterful little hamlets, paddling, rock pooling, looking at the different crops on the beautifully maintained farms. and then enjoyed a superb rustic meal on the quay before catching the ferry back

Although there was some general confusion over the times of the ferries, we had a great boat trip over the Ile de Batz and enjoyed strolling around, taking in the late October sunshine and sampling the crepes before heading back to Roscoff.

Didn't visit this time but it is a great island for walking and relaxing. Can get busy at weekend and summer, although you can get away from any crowds.

We really enjoyed the whole day. The ferry took us through treacherous waters to the island. We were very lucky with the weather and spent the day walking the coastline. Beautiful

We spent half a day visiting this lovely island but could have spent longer. Great walking round the island and with the welcome restaurant/creperie just below the lighthouse - excellent crepe and cider for lunch! As we visited on Sunday afternoon, I suspect it was quieter than usual, which was perhaps to our benefit. You can hire bikes (we saw quite a few families riding round) or just stroll, which ever you decide just make sure you explore the island and not just while away time front - although that could be tempting.

Catch the ferry from the port. The trip is just a few minutes. Well worth a day trip for a nice walk in delightful scenery and a pleasant lunch.

We spent the day on the island. It was our silver wedding anniversary and it was just perfect. We hired bikes and just gently cycled around the island. We paddled at a secluded beach, had lunch in a lovely restaurant and even had a chat with one of the locals, Basil, about the history of the island. A perfect day out.

While on a visit to Brittany I crossed over to the Ile de Batz on the little ferry from Roscoff (€8.50 return). Once I arrived I found a picture perfect French island, with pretty villages, countryside dotted with creperies and beaches with turquoise water and white sand. If you have visited the Isles of Scilly in the UK then this seems to be the French equivalent. I hired a bike to cycle around the island (€5 for 2 hours/€10 a day) and had a wonderful time. The Ile de Batz is definitely somewhere I want to return, and next time I would like to be there for more than just a day!

I visited Ille de Batz for the second time and was pleased to find that it has not changed too much since my last visit. This island is situated within sight of the town of Roscoff and is easily visited by ferry boats which run regularly and cost around 8 euros return; if the kiosk is closed you can pay on the boat. The trip only takes 15 minutes which is not long enough as the views of Roscoff, the bay of Morlaix and other islands are stunningly beautiful, especially in the early morning. The island has very little traffic and is perfect for walking and cycling. Bicycles can be hired on the island. Services include an excellent patisserie, restaurants, creperies, a few small hotels and a youth hostel. The island is perfect for artists, photographers and also has an excellent botanical garden and quiet, sandy beachers which are perfect for picnics. The lighthouse is also open to visitors.

The short boat ride from Roscoff is well worth the price (8.50 euro per adult) at the time of writing. The island has several scenic bays a nice little town and several cafes and restaurants. You may want to rent a gite; there are several to choose from.I climbed the lighthouse and enjoyed the view immensely. We also visited the exotic gardens at the east end of the island. There is no fee for the island itself, just the ferry and some individual attractions on the island.

We rented bikes which is an absolute must there. In one creperie there, service was worse than poor, they do not care about tourists.

If you're in Roscoff, it's a must to take the 15 minute boat ride to the Ile de Batz. It's a lovely, gentle walk around the island. Climb the lighthouse for great views of the harbor and the bay; but hold on to your hat as it gets very windy.

Very much like dthis island, the ferry trip to the island was lovely, great views. The only downside was that there was a lot of traffic, mainly tractors and quad bikes, who drove at high speed through the narrow streets and lanes, which meant you had to jump aside all the time, This made walking not very relaxing, especially with young children and a dog. The locals didn't seem too fond of tourists either. The island is agricultiral and very picturesque. Lovely beaches and harbour. Nice to have been there and to have seen it.

Wonderful place to stay and/or visit on the boat from Roscoff. The south side of the island can be busy in peak season but just follow the coast path and the coastal scenery and flowers are wonderful.Cycles are available for hire at the disembarkation point on the island.
