The park has a 5k perimeter, which means one can run at least 10k without getting bored. Plus some of the routes are in the tree, which makes for a change in this otherwise orderly park. And the views are stunning and mostly closed from the cities around, which makes running even more pleasant. The only drag is that the park opens late and closes early in the Winter.

Within the Parc de Sceaux, the Château is a grand country house located in the 92 department (Hauts de Seine), at the west of Paris. André Le Nôtre who designed Versailles is responsible for the layout of that parc. The present château, designed to evoke the style of Louis XIII, dates from the Second Empire. Some of Colbert's outbuildings remain, and the bones of the garden layout. The parc has been used as a nice scenic area where Madonna, bob Dylan, Supertramp performed.

If you just want to get out of Paris and smell some fresh air - take the RER B from Denfert and go to Sceaux. Nice little town, with some wonderful hometown friendliness and a castle and garden designed by LeNotre. Very beautiful especially during the fall.

This gem of a park is not far from Paris and actually on a straight shot on the RER B, you can be here quickly and easily with a 10- 15 minute walk from either Bourg la Reine, Parc de Sceaux or Plessis Robinson train stop! What is SOOOO wonderful about this park is that is almost identical to the Chateau de Versailles Parc but NOT a tourist park, so this one is free and mostly locals come here. It is beautiful at any time of the year... it's a great place to come to have a great walk, exercise (run, job, bike), to admire the beauty of the park in so many different sections of the park. There is the Grand Canal which takes you around this lavish canal... and you can pass through the woods, as well, on the parcours for runners... There are two different spots which are home to two cherry orchards- white and pink... which normally are in full bloom around mid-April (depending on the season that year) and last for about two weeks... This is a SIGHT to see in itself and truly worth the walk to see it.. So many people come here to picnic on a sunny day when the pink (Japanese) ornamental cherry trees are in full bloom! Simply breath-taking! Take your cameras with you!! There are three kiosks where you can sit down and have a coffee or a cool drink. I love the one by the chateau, but all three are great and the employees are very nice and friendly! There is a HUGE chateau which serves as a museum, the beautiful ornate gardens in front of the chateau with the broidery hedges, just recently redone this past year, in a project in which the went back to the traditional garden design of eariler centuries, there are pictures and explainations posted in front to read about. The park features enlarged photos on exhibit a few times a year, next to the chateau... There is also the period of Open Air Opera in the Park in July, which occurs on a yearly basis as part of the Summer Festivals around France. There are sooo many amazing area to explore in this park that my review simply won't cover them all! So, you'll just have to come and see for yourself! Enjoy! This is indeed and by far, my FAVOURITE park in all of the Paris region.

Walking from the RER to the Parc de Sceaux is a pleasant and short trip! The first thing you see are trees and then a fantastic view of the gardens opens up before you! There are pathways in many directions and a new vista appears at almost every turn. We stopped at the outdoor cafe near the mansion and the view down the hill and beyond was so relaxing that I settled there while my wife went over to tour the mansion! When she returned to the cafe we found a trail with secluded benches and enjoyed a picnic lunch while the birds went about their lives nearby. No pigeons for a change. The visit to this park will be remembered as a highlight of our month long visit to France.

The Parc de Sceaux is a great great place for a Sunday picnic, and you could find both local families as tourists eager to see Lenotre's works. There is something for everyone in the Parc de Sceaux; sunny grass lawns, shady cherry tree gardens and relaxed walks along the grand canal.

This park is enormous, so there's always lots of space, even with lots of joggers, cyclists, families, etc. In Spring the flowering cherry trees are beautiful. Towards autumn, the squirrels come right down when they're busy collecting their nuts and can go right up to people. In Summer, the open air swimming pool is a wonderful day out. The pool has paid entry and gets very busy, so it's best to go early, and weekdays while school is still open are best. The park is always a breath of fresh air and calm right next to the RER B.

We live near the parc (a 10 mins walk) and I love it, its very relaxing and huge, with lots of open and closed areas (with trees). Even on Sundays it doesnt feel crowdy, and there are always places to discover between the trees. Its perfect for jogginng and biking, and for families with kids. And when U you're there, you will forget that you are in a busy city like Paris. Its near the RER B station of the same name "parc de sceaux".We never visited the chateau, so I am not sure what to find inside, but there is a museum I think.

There are many reasons why we visit suburbs, parks being an object of discovery en-route. The significance of this area is simple ... its close to Paris-Orly airport,it has a railway station bearing same name and is home to the National Theatre des Gemeaux. We came to sample the open-air opera at the end of June and to enjoy the Chateau de Sceaux,a grand country house which fields a museum of local history and contains one of the largest collection of the Painters of Paris group. Lovely grounds to amble through,day-dream with long avenues ,stunning lakes and the beautiful chateau.

This is a great day out for families, joggers, couples, cyclists and people with dogs so covers all bases. We visited with my brothers family including a 5 & 3 year old and both our dogs as they live about an hour away. The park is massive with lots of different routes to take, stunning views down the long avenues and lots of lakes as well as the chateau. There are some excellent areas set aside for dogs to be let off their leads with lots of logs for them to climb over and they stretch the whole way down the avenue. My niece and nephew had great fun climbing trees and running around the whole area. I would definitely recommend this park to everyone visiting this area.

This is a truly wonderful park. In the spring or summer it is a delight to walk around but it is very big and when you think you have been all around it..you haven't. Don't miss this park.

This is a big place to walk, calm and if you want you can go out to drink in a bar. Thats right. Walking drinking a fresh drink. If you want relax this is a choice to have not loose. You can reach it directly with the RER (train) and stop to Sceaux Park. If you do not like to walk do not use this RER stop. It isn't for you.

We wandered around the grounds for a couple of hours but there were still bits we never saw - the park is a haven for joggers and newly-weds because of the photo-opportunites it offers. Lovely.
