Gdansk老城确实不错,别看周边破旧,老城这一块还是很精致的,城墙、河岸、古朴的房子、广场、教堂,再加上当天晴朗的天气,一起来得都非常美好,留下了良好的印象!值得一游的城市!
Great museums, restaurants and tourist attractions, but not a lot going on in terms of the night life.
My fourth visit to Gdansk and I am still blown away with the old town area. You can spend hours walking around just soaking up the atmosphere of the rebuilt area. It is stunning and worthy of at least a day of exploration. You will not be disappointed!
Dlugi targ is by far the place to be in gdansk full of bars and restaurant and interesting sights and museums the place to be.
Old Town was beautiful and had a interesting architecture. There is a lot of cozy and charming restaurants, which are popular among tourists (Well becouse they are expensive among locals) but they were still cheap, because in Finland you have to pay 2 or 3 times more. If you wish to visit museums, there is some.
I was truly amazed when I've visited Old Town for the very first time. I had an opportunity to do so in February when I was in Poland doing some business meetings and I loved to spend my spare time there. I think it's one of those places that you really need to see. I really recommend to visit Old Town, as it's really unique and beautiful.
It is difficult to believe that Gdansk was raised to rubble at the end of WWII. The Old Town has been restored to what it was like before the war. The facades of the buildings may be the same, however, when you go behind them they have been updated and the layouts changed for their modern functions. Whilst on a walking tour, our guide was able to get us access into a couple of buildings to see this,it was fascinating. Hats off to the people of Gdansk who could have quite easily decided to bulldoze and rebuild in a "modern" style. It is difficult to distinguish old from new architecture as the bricks were recycled from the bombed out buildings.
It's one of the most wonderful old towns I've ever seen. The buildings in German and Dutch style recall the past of Gdańsk as a Hanseatic city.
plenty to see in old town, followed an old town walking tour that took about 2 hours but took in 24 sites. very compact and easy to get around
Lovley old town loads of restaurants and bars You can wander for hours just looking at the beautiful architecture and stroll along the river Lovely place for a visit
Although my visit to gdansk was at the start of my tour of poland, after a few days at sopot, it was the best of all the 3 main cities i travelled through, my image of gdansk had been fixed from the solidarity movement of 20 years ago with the shipyards and docks been at the forefront of my mind, but on seeing the old city i was transfixed by the glorious fascades and old buildings that make up the old town, just a having 3-4 hours to spare before my train to warsaw i went straight as i could passing many old and fine buildings and churches before coming across the mighty cathedral, massive, reminds me of the tate modern building on the southbank of london, another huge brick built builiding, but it hadn`t had to be rebuilt from the ground upwards as this splendid house of worship, simply marvelous, went from the 2 main gates to the old town, slowly walking down the main street, passed the cathedral again but this time been able to take in the amazing clock tower, with the tinkling bells chiming out a beautiful tune at midday, i paused at every builiding to take in the amazing detail of the fascades, each on different fom the last, and finally down to the waterfront, again with an imposing gateway. The truely amazing thing about the whole town is its been rebuilt after the horrors and destruction left by the germans. A humbling 3 hours walk through an incredible city.
So many wonderful buildings to see with an abundance of grand religious buildings rising above the pretty terrace buildings reminiscent of ones in Amsterdam. If you see nothing else in Gdansk, definitely go see the Old Town.
Gdansk is stunning! A port city with rich history and an amazing Old Town. It is much bigger than Krakow and I can easily say that more beautiful too! Amazing architecture, lovely canals... It is definitely worth visiting!
The old town is small but definately worth a visit. There is some beautiful buildings, loads of museums and some excellent bars and restaurants. The main square is nicely lit up at night a good cheap pub near to the golden gate is the Amsterdam Bar which has a selection of over 100 bottled beers and the snack type food is excellent
The city centre of Gdansk is a very beautiful collection of nice houses, most of them in similar style. The cityhall tower can be visited and the long stairs bring you to a spectacular view of the centre and it's surroundings.
