Sunday nights can be a little tough to find something more up tempo than a romantic meal if you're a couple in town for a limited period. And if you you would rather do something other than just sit in a pub getting out of your face then this is for you. The Comedy Crunch is a free venue in downstairs at The Stage and gets locals and tourists alike. Donations are quested at the end for the 3 - 4 comedians you get to see during the evening. Each of the acts we saw had a different style and the length of time they were on reflected their relative experience. The MC holds things together brilliantly and if you're lucky enough to be near the front you might even get a free ice-cream during the short interval. My wife and I sat near the bar, which was more important than ice cream. You need to get there early, so have a pint or two in the Stag beforehand and watch carefully for people making there way towards the stairs around 8.00. The more good reviews it gets the more difficult it will be to get in the place, it only holds about 100, and we did see a few people turned away even before the first act had started.

Went on the Monday night. Got to the pub at 8pm and the doors opened at 8.15 - and it soon filled up but the pub's brilliant (best one from our trip) so we had a few drinks at the bar. Mc was very funny himself and the four comedians were also very good and different so there was certainly something for everyone. Can't believe it's free!

After going here once and laughing so hard, Comedy Crunch has become a weekly even for our apartment. If you're in town on a Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and looking for a good laugh this is the place to go

I was traveling alone in Dublin and I'm a big lover of stand up so I popped in for the first half of a Sunday night show for an hour before I had to take the bus back to where I was staying. It's definitely a group/couple place so I felt a little awkward by myself in the corner but obviously no one cared but me! :) Everyone was so happy and energetic and the comedians were really good. Host did his job well and got everyone in the mood to laugh. I went down there at 8:15 when the doors opened and it filled up pretty quickly, so if good seats are important to you get there early! Would absolutely recommend, wish I could have stayed longer!

Visited on the Monday night and it was so good we went back on the Tuesday night. Comedy is held downstairs and Monday night was very busy so advise to get there on time and to get a seat. A mix of locals, tourists and students made for a friendly atmosphere and a great pub to stay for a drink in afterwards. Laughed a lot and provided some good memories of the trip. Oh and free ice creams at the interval too!

Great night. Get there early (8pm) so you can get a good seat (starts at 9 and doors open to the downstairs bar at 8:15) as it gets packed. Went on a Monday night and it was full! Funny comedy and ice cream at the interval. All free. Drinks prices €5.90 for pint of lager and €7.50 for a gin and tonic. Pretty standard prices for Dublin. Lasts 2 hours including the interval.

I went here when I was traveling last year, and it was a hidden gem. We found out from our hostel, and it was awesome hanging out with people from all different countries. Also, the comedians were hilarious, I would highly recommend it!

There were four comedians, a bar, free entry and free ice cream. I liked 2 out of the 4 comedians. That's two stars (the first one wasn't funny and the third one offensive and disrespectful with his jokes about ISIS). The third star is for the MC Colm. He was funnier than comedians 1 and 3. The fourth star is for the fact that it's FREE! If I could give 4 and a half I would, since it was a great overall experience with a fun atmosphere.

Fantastic atmosphere. The MC is great and we loved the show every time we went there. I mean seriously now, this is a great show any night of the week, but for a free show on a Monday or Tuesday night you would be mad to complain. Go now and enjoy yourself.

Who ever knew Ireland had some funny people in it. They are funny for free and they give you ice cream during the interval.

Stumbled across a flyer the day before not expecting much about a free comedy gig. MC Colm was hilarious inside 30 seconds tearing apart the audience members, it's an intimate venue that can only seat around 100 so go to the back if you want to escape! The show lasted 2 hours with 4/5 different comedians, all with great originality. Easily the funniest gig I have been to, at one point I was crying uncontrollably! It is free, and they give out ice cream!? What more do you want, get to this one night in Dublin!

We stumbled across this comedy show and had a fantastic evening! Colm, the MC was great, and really interacted with the audience. All 4 acts were really good. The venue was fun and cozy, a great way to spend an evening in Dublin. Yes, the ice cream is from Lidl, but that only adds to the fun and atmosphere!

I have been living in Dublin for about a year and a half now. I think on average I must go to the Comedy Crunch twice a month and I can say it is one of the best comedy clubs I have been to. It is different to regular (usually expensive) comedy venues. The variety of comedians trying new material it is great I've seen comedians from Finland, Russia, US and Canada here. Beside Dublin, Cork and Wicklow comedy. IT is just great, both Danny and Colm are great MCs. Usually you see starter comedians trying material and it is quite common to see comedians for which you would be paying 30€ anywhere else. Also the Stags Head pub pours one of the best Guinness in town and you get Lidl ice-cream which is actually not as bad as you might think.A must go on a Dublin Siunday-Monday (now also Tuesday) night

You will not find a better night out on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. We last visited it two years ago and upon our visit last week knew we'd have to go again! It was so good on Sunday we went again to the Monday and Tuesday shows! It's even better than it used to be and even busier so get there early. There was people there from Ireland, England, America, Spain and even Pakistan and the comedians still managed to find jokes that everyone could laugh at! Miss it already will be back :) And bloody free too!
