I recently came to see Jack and the Bean Stalk here with my 4 year old boy. The service was brilliant from the minute I walked in the door right up until I walked out again! I'm very local and have been coming here for years, I would recommend this place to anyone.
The Brunton Theatre is situated in the centre of Musselburgh High Street and has its own Restaurant. They offer snacks and light meals all day and in the evening when a show is on which is most of the year. They do lovely scones, served with butter and jam with tea, coffee etc. Prices are reasonable and the Restaurant is very popular.
food was very nice but expensive...why stop breakfasts at noonBurgers were excellent and ambience very pleasant too
Friendly staff and good facilities make this a destination of choice. Food very acceptable, and access arrangements pretty satisfactory too.
Came in Bistro to pick up a few goodies to bring home to tea. First waitperson was a bit frumpy when i asked for scones and they were out of them and she got involved with something else. Second wait person was pleasant enough. Goodies were a bit high priced and said to be made that day, but the chocolate swirl cake was a bit dry. The walnut one was nicer, more moist. May give them another try as they are so close by, and eat in.
We were at the theatre on Saturday 28th June for Vintage Dance, and what a night it was, fantastic band and the professional dancers. The venue is ideal for this, easy to find and bigger inside, more than we thought. Thank you to Sharon for inviting us, and well done on your first charity event. Barnados children. We were glad to take part and glad to hear you raised a lot of money, would recommend the theatre to all, whether its a private event or a ticket event
This is a great venue. Two theatres , cinema viewings and lots of performers come here. Friendly, helpful staff both at front desk and on show nights. Keep your eyes peeled on what's coming up or join their mailing list
This is a small theatre which runs very varied programmes for the whole community with shows for kids right through to some pretty esoteric plays. With an in house eatery and an excellent bar significantly cheaper than its big city theatre rivals, it is well worth the bit of extra travelling to get to, especially as it has ample free parking! The staff are cheerful and friendly and it is easy to book on line.
My wife and I saw Arrival - an Abba tribute band - here last saturday. The Brunton theatre is our favourite theatre. It is relatively small but very intimate and there's not a bad seat to be had. The theatre has been recently refurbished and is very comfortable and clean. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and polite. The theatre is right beside the main road. Easy to get to by car or bus and there's loads of free parking too. Arrival are acknowledged as one of the best Abba tribute bands in the world and rightly so. They gave us two hours of superb entertainment and their singing, musicianship and attention to detail was quite stunning. Here's hoping that they come back soon. No doubt they will play to yet another full house. Thanks for a great nights entertainment girls and boys!!!
Went here to see a 'Roy Orbison-Traveling Willberry's tribute act. Seating was very comfortable with plenty of leg room and good high difference between rows so people in front didn't block your view in what is a relatively small theatre. It was set up with no stage with those on the front row on the same level as the act and this worked very well giving a very intimate experience. Great experience that we would not hesitate to repeat
Thank you to the wonderful staff of The Brunton Theatre who were so kind in showing my elderly aunt to her seat in the front row via the stage. This is a little gem of a theatre/s with a very varied programme of local and small touring shows. Prices are one third of what you would pay at most Edinburgh theatres and you can enjoy a great night out for £15 or less. If you are having a special night out the Brunton Bistro is also fantastic value for money for their two course pre theatre dinner.
I like this theatre you feel as though you are part of the stage ,small and fairly intimate with great views and really good accoustics
Hello, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit to The Brunton. We hope to see you again soon.
Small with lots of atmosphere. Good seating and very good acoustics. Parking is on-site and well lit at nights.
I love this theatre- have been quite a few times. I went to see a panto here and other shows such as 'hello dolly' and it was hillarious. Fantastic!! Super entertainment!!
