The santa specials are a fun for adults and children. the staff are friendly and they made the whole trip worthwhile. The scenery at this time of year was wonderful.

We went on the Hallowe'en Ghost Train - something different & a bit of fun! I cannot praise enough the volunteers who made the whole thing happen. They had put so much effort into providing a fun evening for those of us lucky enough to get tickets! My husband and I had taken the train from Dufftown to Keith (& back) in the summer which is how we found out about the Ghost Train. They "do" Santa trips too - sadly we don't have children so have no excuse to try that one too! We will be back in the summer though!

A wonderful short diversion from the distilleries while walking the Speyside Way.The train trip itself is not overly exciting but the scenery is great and at Keith we all get the opportunity to sit in the driving compartment and play with the air horn – can’t understand how the people of Keith have not put a stop to this. The rail trip turns out to be a real bonus as we get fleeting but clear sights of deer for the first time on our journey. All the volunteer staff we encountered at the station and on the train clearly took delight in what they did and this added to our enjoyment.

liked the small distilleries - we did a few tours and we learned a lot (and also tasted great whisky). The view around the area is breathtaking - lots of green, forests, sheep...The people in Scotland are so nice! Very helping and friendly :)There is so much to see but we had little time to see it all..

The Dog and I had a very enjoyable trip from Keith to Dufftown and back. We (the dog and I) had a very good cup of tea (I had the tea) and a slice of lemon drizzle cake which I had to use all my self control to stop myself from having another slice instead we shared an ice cream. We will be back

A lovely journey through picturesque countryside. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, we won't hesitate to come back.

This train tour is a wonderful opportunity to get some information about history of railway and visit Strathisla Distillery with and taste for example Cask Strength Whisky.

This was the highlight of the visit. The Volunteers on the train and in the station were life loving retirees, who were fun and entertaining.

We've visited twice now, and the line is wonderful. The staff work hard, they're friendly and enthusiastic. The journey is great, I'd highly recommend it.

Nice experience on the train with this whisky tasting and nosing with Steve. And the scenery of the railway was also nice, since several distilleries can be seen from the train.

Loved the lodge we stayed at and the railway journey was lovely for our daughter she loved it. Dufftown railway was fantastic

Took the return journey from Keith to Dufftown at the weekend and it was great. It is really surprising what these volunteers are doing and their spirit and enthusiasm made the day really enjoyable. There are stops in between and if you are a walker you could easily get off half way and wander back through the countryside. At Dufftown we walked up into the square and if it’s a fine day then it ok, but it’s a long walk if it’s raining. However the buffet car at the end of the railway line is very nice and there is also the Glenfiddich Distillery next door (well worth a visit). If you do venture into Dufftown I would highly recommend the Stuart Arms.

An excellent 40 minute ride on an old diesel multiple unit train which brought back childhood memories! Young people can sit in the front of the train behind the driver to see the line ahead and pretend they are driving! A commentary on what we were passing was also given. The trip was preceded by an excellent light lunch in a converted dining car.

A beautiful Sunday afternoon. Very friendly staff who are all volunteers let us not forget. An enjoyable and scenic journey from Keith to Dufftown to enjoy tea and scones in the dining carriage which seems to be a permanent fixture in Dufftown. The scones are freshly made on the premeses and obviously made by an expert in home baking. Remember once again the people are all volunteers. Once the tea has been drank and scones scoffed it is time for thee turn to Keith. The history of the line is discussed by a lovely lady ticket collector who is obviously so proud of the line and quite rightly to. The Whisky Line gets John's Vote.

If you are in this part of Scotland it is well worth going the extra few miles to sample this whiskey line train journey even though you don't stop at any distilleries, it's on a small D.M.U it was strange that coming from Cornwall and having worked for B.R in the 50/60s to find out from the ticket collector that the first unit used to be running between Penzance and Plymouth and then ended up in Dufftown, all of the staff are volunteers and are very friendly.
