Fabulous cafe and shop within a lovely setting. Always great food which is presented so lovely. Only criticism would be the prices seem a bit too high but otherwise this place is lovely to visit
The café is fabulous, everything in the garden looks rosy, but a lot of visitors do forget to view the onsite shop. It is full of exquisite products based on /influenced by the plants within the garden. Quality gift ideas and heavenly smelling beauty products and candles, The staff are very knowledgeable about the products and the ethos of the walled garden concept. For me the shop is every bit as important as the café, and the garden itself. You can even become a friend of the project or get involved in volunteering.
First I've been and liked it. If you are in the area I'd recommend poping in for lunch or a cup of tea.
As a regular to the Walled Garden it has never disappointed me yet.Staff are very good indeed ( especially Carly ) and you are always made to feel welcome .However as a regular I do find that the choice is restricted in terms of what they offer . My preference would be for the menu to change more often and from late afternoon for there to be an evening choice . To be honest this place ticks all the boxes but with just a wee bit of fine tuning and take on board customers comments they will have cracked it ...... We were told the menu is due to change so here is hoping ..Keep up the good work and fab service .P.s please bring back the sausage and mash and tipsy laird.......
We booked for the Burns Night evening being held at the Walled Garden at the Gordon Castle in Fochabers. An excellent evening with a lovely buzzy atmosphere and live music being played by Footerin' Aboot ceilidh band. The wood burner was on as well making it nice and cosy!! The food was excellent, really nicely presented and at £25.00 per head for a 3-course meal this was superb. The staff were fantastic, really efficient and polite. Well worth it.
I went out for lunch with a family member here, and I have to say I loved it, and will definitely be going back soon. The staff were friendly, yet professional. The food range was varied, and the food was tasty. All freshly prepared with local ingredients, many grown in their kitchen garden. There is a little shop on site, that sells luxury items including their own homemade gins... I had to buy a bottle of both, the bathroom goods are a must buy too. I would highly recommend visiting Gordon Castle Walled Gardens. They hold event evenings through the year too which is a fabulous idea. I cannot wait to go back.
This was our 2nd visit, our first was for a meal, which we enjoyed, our second visit was for afternoon tea, with friends, also very nice.We went for a walk round the lake very beautiful with the autum colours, visited the small shop and bought some things.Looking forward to future visits, and to see the progress of the walled garden.
This lovely place was recommended by a family member. It was so good we went back a few times. The place is clean and friendly, the staff very professional and good with kids. The food was also very very good. They have a specials board which sadly changes nearly every day. On one visit I had a lovely burger and I wanted to try another dish but it wasn't available within a few days. For pudding I had a creme brûlée which was very good. I can only recommend this place but you must drive.
Today, with family & friends, enjoyed a birthday lunch at The Walled Garden restaurant. This our second visit in two weeks. It is a beautiful space with a thoughtful menu featuring locally sourced produce. The staff are incredibly friendly and can tailor swift or more leisurely service on request. Lovely touch when the birthday cake was brought to our table by several of the team singing Happy Birthday! We will most definitely return!
I've eaten lunch here a couple of times with my parents and it is a lovely place with great food but the service is slow. If they could just get a decent head waiter to keep service moving it would be one of the best resturants in the local area.
Exelen place for relaxing and having an afternoon coffee in some spectacular suroundings. They distill their own Walled garden Gin, lovely with a slice of cucumber and cola!
Visited yesterday with my baby and mother! What a beautiful place. Service excellent-friendly and helpful and setting utterly gorgeous. Please keep up the high standards, makes a wonderful change finding somewhere like this. Shop could have more in it-items of clothing perhaps? Can I also say how delightful the grounds staff were too-all said hello and chatted away to my little girl. A generally lovely approach to a new visitor attraction. About time too!
Had a wonderful tea and scone in very comfortable surroundings, worth a visit, lunch menu looked good.
I agree with previous reviewer, more than a cafe but a gem of a light, airy and modern restaurant serving good food by polite, efficient staff. Exactly what the area needs more of, they know what they're doing and it shows. Well done we'll be back and soon!
Loved the grounds and the fact you can sit outside weather permitting. Very tastefully presented and food delicious. Staff courteous and friendly and place is spotless.
